If fate be kind to me, I hope to see myself back in the saddle of an 'R'...... Updated, lighter, more power, but with the styling cues of an ageless design now 6+ years old. R1200RA, From afar, I hear it calling to me. But if they go crazy with new angular facets rearing it's pseudo-modern head seen...

All that I had done was replace the factory air filter with a K&N element. As I understand it, the fuel injection system on the 1150's is of an old, old, old design! In addition to being an outdated design, it's limited in what it can do and especially with what it's been given to do it with. In...

Here's my annual story of falling from the Roadster: First of all, don't attempt a U-turn on a steep hill, regardless of how skilled you think you are. Sooooo I'm doing this U-turn on a steep hill, and the bike starts to list. The bike and I are falling the long way down, plenty of time for me to th...

DANGER! I had a custom can made for me that required NO packing. I told him to keep the baffle in place, but not to pack it. It was about the same size as my SuperTrapp, carbon fiber, and sexy sounding. In fact, it sounded like the single baddest Honda RC51 V-twin EVER MADE making a pass at 150 mph...

ohmygod, ohmygod, ohmygod, OHMYGOD ! ! ! I neglected to open this thread, not realizing that I was missing out on some of the coolest stuff EVER on R1150R.org! I just got through looking at the images from page 1 through 11, and without reading any dialogue, the story line represented by the images,...

I think LionLady pretty much hit it on the head. All other arguments aside, it comes right down to whether it fits you head comfortably AND CORRECTLY. It's just as true for a full-face, 3/4, beanie, or modular. That said....... I went through two Nolan flip-ups in 2002/2004, but we're talking about ...

Nice, reeeal nice.

Aside from the beautiful day, good roads, and catchy breakfast plates,
I'm still awe struck with how handsome the Silver Roadster is. And the system cases look perfect on that color combination!

Welcome to the west coast for a little Liberal frivolity!

Whoa, that's weird.

I read that first reply too.....
said something about my story being a bit "haunting."
It might be this board, that's haunted.

You wanna hear from somebody who put a quick 60,000 miles on an R1150R, sold it, and bought another bike (two actually)? D'OH! I have the attention span of a Beagle..... I often wander from the original path, seeking instead a new and different one. The irony is in so doing, I complain of never know...

My own private Blighty along the Delta

I struck out to join Rick & Mike on an annual "Lonely Boys" ride. We're single guys who have no commitments to in-laws, kids, or a loved one. Sad though it may be, we seem to deal with it quite well in a manly sorta way (at least on the surface). So I stick my head-scarf on (I don't kn...

I'd be ALL over that!

Make an R1200R just as you described, and I would sign on the dotted line in an instant.

Alas, for I doubt I will be of the future elite....
and I actually like the Bender look!

(Guess I belong to the Ninja 650 middle-class then; not that there's anything wrong with that.)

How hard would it be for BMW to fit all the Rock & Roadster body parts they have laying around, to a 1200 Hexhead??? Frankly, I don't want the current cosmetics of the Roadster to change..... it's timeless the way it is. But give us a lighter package, with a smoother running powerplant, the new ...

Mettallic Blue BMW F800ST
and a
Suomy Fabrizio Spec-1R Extreme helmet.

I don't have any images to bust yer eye with,
but OHMYGOD,
I'd be look'n tough-n-fine if I could add some BMW riding gear to the above mentioned package!

Lemme see, you say you acquired a 2002R with a mere 1400 miles.... and nothing else done in the last three/four years but an oil and filter change?!?!? Should I change the trans and shaft fluids? Sure why not..... and brake fluid too. That's a long time for a machine to sit around with the same (sta...

I thought being a manly man (and fat) was enough to ride in these sub-40F days. NOT! I'm actually considering an electric vest for the first time. Does this mean that fat holds water, watery fat gets cold, and as a result I get colder easier? Layering ain't all it's cracked up to be, I want electrics!

Modesto Ducati has his Dyno set up in a HUGE trailer. He rolls it out of the back when he needs to do a Dyno-tune. I try to catch him when he's got it rolled out and set up, paying as little as $25/$30.00 for a quick run. Soooo...., it runs on generators; I guess he failed to set the clock. He also ...
