JB, Thanks for the photo. That is a neat looking bag. My problem is that I tend to fill stuff to 110% of its capacity (Yes, I am a pack rat!). It's the fact that the $torage Pod holds just 4 liters that attracted me. I might also consider the Coretech for longer trips though. This $torage Pod gizmo ...

Thanks for the tips. It's all four turn signals and to be honest, it surprises me how chintzy these sockets are. I normally just clean the contacts on the bulb and the turn signal with a piece of sandpaper, apply some dielectric grease, and reinstall the lens covers without any sealant. Maybe one of...

Turn Signal Socket Upgrade?
Does anyone else have issue with the turn signal sockets on your Roadster? The metal "blades" seem to corrode where they contact the bulb termials. I've cleaned them and coated them with dielectric grease but they eventually mess up again to the point where I have to smack the turn signal ...

Welcome to our terrific web site Sojourner! Congrats on your excellent taste in motorcycles! :D I grew up in the Danielsville area right near Blue Mountain Ski Resort (live south of Dover, DE now). Anyway, I'm up there all the time to ride the great roads (of which we have almost none in Delaware) w...

Your battery is probably low on elecrolyte. In January I swapped out my '02's stock battery (with an Odyssey gel Type). I had never really used a a trickle charger and had put 35,000 miles on the stock battery. I'd noticed my Roadster's starter motor was turning slower in cold weather and would som...

National Cycle Storage Pod Question
Anyone tried National Cycle's Storage Pod? From the photos, it reminds me of the same material my Oakley sunglass case or Nelson Rigg's Saddle Bags are made out of. I've got System Cases but I'd like something like this for local rides when I won't experience a hardship by not dragging raingear, Wid...

When I wrote those I used +390 to indicate the violator's vehicle was 390 feet from my location when I first received the violator's speed. Another distance is locked in when you release the Lidar's trigger and I'd commonly note that on my copy for court testimony. The + indicates the violator was a...

I believe that simply means that the fuel pump is not normally repairable if it fails - that you would need to replace the pump as opposed to getting it fixed. I changed my fuel filter over the winter. Those single use clamps are a pain. They were the longest and most difficult aspect of the procedu...

I agree. Not a difficult job at all. I swapped out my almost four year old battery recently. It was a bit corroded, weak, and low on electrolyte, what with having been ignored and never put on a charger. My starter is now cranked by an Odysee Gel battery. I also used the opportunity to swap out the ...

AIR FILTER R&R
Erik, Congrats on your new Roadster! You, Sir, have excellent taste in motorcycles! :D AIR FILTER R&R - very simple. Fuel tank removal is not necessary. Your owner's manual explains how you remove I believe one rear bolt, raise the rear of the tank, and hold it up with the same bolt. You can the...

I got 42.4 MPG today on my '02 Roadster (36.5K miles). My average speed for this tank was pretty brisk, including a late night 45 mile slab ride home at 75+ mph. The rest was back roads. Mileage definately improved on mine as mileage increased. You should also notice a quieter motor after the break-...

Left Cylinder Cam Chain Tensioner
LEFT CAM CHAIN TENSIONER I swapped out mine today in about 15 minutes. Haven't started the motor yet because I have the fuel tank off for some much needed battery maintenance. All I did was: 1] Loosen the two hose clamps on the intake immediately aft of the left throttle body. 2] Remove the two all...
