Dang Grips
I picked up some new grips for the Rockster the other day and started cutting off the old ones. A procedure I've done before. Delicate, but doable. This is the first time I've put new grips on this Rockster, though. The throttle side came off no problem. The heater wire is intact and perfect. The le...

Whew! That was close
No, didn't almost crash. I'm looking at selling one car to pick up another and had a temporary moment of insanity thinking "well I could sell the Rockster to get the cash I need..." The wife talked me out of it. I love her... Gawd, what was I thinking?! I had to run into the garage and giv...

I don't have it on right now as I have to remove the center stand and I really like my center stand.

Re: Going to Colorado, any advice on roads?
Great weather out here right now. Little warm, but if you're up in the mountains you'll be fine. Like previous posts, any mountain roads and any canyon roads. Sometimes I purposefully get lost. Just head into the hills and start enjoying the turns!

First service done!
I've had an '05 Rockster for a few months. I'm the 4th owner and it's juuuuust now come up for it's 12k service. Did these people not ride it?! I bought it in September with a little over 6k on the clock and have since doubled it (and enjoyed every second). oil and filter - check K&N air filter ...

Re: Alternative side panniers
I'm currently running Hepco & Becker cases on a SW Motech frame. There are options for a backrest and top case, but I don't have em. Usually I have all the mounting brackets on the bike without the frame which mounts in seconds. The bags then mount to the frame easily and securely. They're big a...

I'd do a deep run through and make sure everything else is in order as well. They should have sold it to you in better condition

So I was adjusting the valves on the Rockster last night and had a moment of supreme uncoordination. I poked the timing hole cover right into the hole. How screwed am I? I imagine I'll be ok. If that thing gets tossed up in the flywheel it'll get chewed up like nobody's business and not dama...

Re: SW-motech luggage rack and JC Whitney topcase
Not sure about that exact model, but I've got a full set of SW-Motech racks on my '05 Rockster. They look fairly industrial. The pic you linked looks pretty cool! Mine is built like a brick s h i t house though. Good stuff. I've got Hepco Becker cases on mine and love 'em, btw. They make a topcase w...

I've actually started investigating a rear view camera. Could easily mount a small camera on the rear and a 3.5" monitor on the handle bar clamps.
Hmmm...
