Re: Happy New Year to all and..................
End of 2017 the clutch lever had no more free play, clutch gone after only 45.000 kilometers. I've never had a clutch wear down that quick in over 40 years of riding bikes, cars or RVs. Probably the previous owner could not let go of that lever. Well clutch was gone indeed, so new clutch plate, pres...

As long as you do not link to your pictures on any forum, all goes well. But I had to pay if I wanted my pictures to be visible on a forum like this. $ 399 a year.

Re: How do you get your bike to start in the teens?
I only use it when going to Germany or France, because for the past few years it's never been below -10C = 14F in the Netherlands. I just answered MThomas's question : has anyone found a reliable method to start your bike in the cold? Right now it's between 7 to 12C = 44.6 to 53.6 F around here. Rid...

Re: Replacement Horn for r1150r
R1150R has a Looney Tunes Roadrunner "meep meep". They formentioned FIAMM horns on the K1100LT and K1200LT are almost Stebel level loud. Whenever you decide to buy them, point the horns downward or sideways but NOT backwards to keep the water and dust out. You will not like sitting almost ...

Re: Replacement Horn for r1150r
Having owned a K1100LT before I bought the R1150R I know that the K1100LT has much louder 2-tone FIAMM horns, so I replaced the R1150R bleeper with the K1100LT horns, yes horns. You need a pair. When I say louder, they are much LOUDER! They were also used on K75RT, K100RT and the like, maybe...

New rules on Photobucket won't allow you to link from a forum to your pictures on Photobucket.
For the time I use Tinypic.com , until they decide to do the same.

I can see a lot of pictures, but your flyscreen cannot be seen. I use a MRA screen instead. Old picture without the new headlight.

Well that's a change from http://www.r1150r.org/board/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=34909 $ 400 spent in Oct 2016  You should have kept the cat. You could have put it back in place now. I keep al the parts I replace with aftermarket stuff. For whenever I want to go back or one day when I want to se...

Re: Awesome Brakes/Awesome Maintenance
Change the brake fluid every year, especially the iABS part! No excusues and pray they keep working or break down before riding out. I was on a roadtrip with a few friends when my iABS failed while braking hard for a red light. I braked hard but no or just a little braking power left. I crossed the ...

They are $ 8,26 for a pair, not a piece.
According to realoem they are $ 2,90 (a piece I suppose)

Re: BMW Microfiche question - Starter Motor Cover
You're topicstart is a bit confusing too. First you write "my 2004 R1150R". Later on I read "I took delivery of my bike on August 21, 2003". If you took delivery of your bike on august 21 2003, you can safely assume it was build before August. So your bike has the 2002 version. h...

I've opted for the Givi topcase mount for Givi and other (Kappa) monokey cases. http://www.twistedthrottle.com/givi-topcase-rack-bmw-r1150r-01 Also at Revzilla https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/givi-sr683-top-case-rack-r1150r-2001-2005 No drilling or cutting required, just remove the original plas...

Re: Where to mount a phone?
I put my Garmin on a rammount like this. You can buy the bolts in several sizes, buy a longer bolt and just replace the original one http://www.as-gps.be/boutique/174-687-large/ram-b-367u.jpg In the picture below, they put it in the upper position, to keep a good view on the dash, I used the lower p...
