I am sorry to have missed you this year, Doc. But remarks by others suggest you have accepted the mantle of BB8 Master! Perhaps you and HealthyDoc have a special something for us?

Do the TBS. It's required anyway. Then re-diagnose.

Re: Wont start,tried everything
MCoop had an aggravating problem last year with very similar symptoms. Turned out to be Hall Sensor. But not a bad one, simply a poorly installed one with a damaged part on the shaft where it connected to the alternator system. It caused the rotation to be eccentric rather than circular, thus causin...

One challenge for me - NY state is on my banned list. Unless, Albany makes some substantial changes between now and then, my attendance is questionable.

Re: Battery mystery
1. Bike sat a year. Anything can be bad from neglect based on that. Check wiring everywhere. The click indicates either a bad battery (which you appear to have ruled out) or faulty wiring somewhere along the way. Could be the starter is drawing high amps due to dirty parts; could be the alternator i...

Re: ANy good way to troubleshoot alternator or starter?
For a known good battery.... this is the order I would check. 1. Wire connections - at each terminal and where the main wires connect at the starter and the frame ground. Also, good high voltage/high cap wires - those are older and could have failed/faded. 2. Starter. The Valeo starter gets that way...

SamCam will be in London that week (ash permitting). If you can hook her up with gear, a ride, camping equipment, an International License, and directions I'll send her by.
