Re: Brake Failure

I just peened over the metal to hold the motor. It doesnt look as nice as the original job but it has held for know. Another possible aproach would be to drill a small hole through the Ali post and use a roll pin to hold the motor, your could push the pin back and take the motor off witout removing ...

Re: Brake Failure

Matt - search for ModuleMaster - they rebuild the ABS motor/unit for less than $300 with quick turnaround and offer a 5 year warranty on their work. I know quite a few people who've had them work their magic, and so far - everyone has been quite happy with the outcome. FWIW - the failure code you'r...

Re: Brake Failure

Thanks for suggestions and help. I did remove the ABS unit and the culprit was a sticky brush, It is all reassembled now and a 60 mile test ride returned an all clear :D

Re: Brake Failure

A faulty battery would be the best outcome but I suspect it is the ABS motor at fault. The light came on today within a few minutes of riding and the voltage was 12.8v, so the battery does appear ok.

Brake Failure

On my 08 R12R with a mere 14k miles I have the Brake failure warning light on, the GS911 reads the fault "Power supply to pump motor faulty" . What is the chance of it being the battery? with the engine and ignition off the battery voltage is 12.8, with the ignition on it drops to 12.4 and...

Re: Another Tire Thread

Ok the rebalancing has got the vibes to an expectable level, I will try to live with them for a bit longer. The Contis when new had great grip, feedback and comfort but 4500 and they were to out of shape.

Re: Another Tire Thread

I found them hard, bumpy and with neutral uninspiring almost dull steering, the only feedback I'm getting is vibrations on the handlebars. Also, they do not have a nice smooth feeling more of a flat tyre or towing a trailer feeling. The only positive is they don't track tar lines or white lines in t...

Re: Another Tire Thread

I recently had a pair of Pilot Road 4 fitted. There is only good reviews of this tyres on the net so it appeared to be a good choice. For me it was a bad choice as I dont like them and cant wait to get them off. I know tyres are a very personal choice and fairly expensive so sometimes it is better t...

Re: Recommend Me a Helmet!

The C3 arrived so I eagerly rush out for a test ride. It was only marginally quieter than the Arai, not sure it was significant improvement enough to warrant keeping the C3.

Re: Recommend Me a Helmet!

Some helmets are worse than others, my old Arai Maverick is fairly quiet with little buffering noise, however my later Arai Astro R is quieter at low speed but deafening buffering noise at 60 mph. Unfortunately my old Arai is too old use now and I understand the screens are responsible for buffering...

Re: Recommend Me a Helmet!

Shoei are nice quality helmets. If you have screen on your bike, do you get a buffering noise with the shoei.

Re: Recommend Me a Helmet!

Hi everyone, I would like to ask what kinds of helmets you find useful when riding the R1200R with the small BMW sportshield. I am 5'7" and currently have an Arai Quantum but too noisy! Usually I use earplugs, but problem is that they push any stuff in my ears further down and need visits to d...
