Re: 200k mile club?
Sort of OT...but I do know a guy who got over 200K on his GS.
Oops...sorry, that wasn't a BMW...'twas a Suzuki GS850G....
Never mind. Interesting thread though....

Re: Driving Lights Advice Please
Bob, You're most welcome...also, I've seen those Lumilink mounts on a couple of bikes, they look like the ticket for easy mounting. I've done something a bit different on my R11S and used Hawk mounts which attach to the valve cover bolts and fabricated an ell bracket to hang the lights off the Hawk ...

+1 on the FF50's.. mounted a set under the oil cooler shrouds on an '04 1150R almost 5 years ago. And though I know longer own that bike, the current (hmm, a pun?) rider has had NO electrical/breakage problems with the lights, and they still have the original bulbs installed. He rides that bike on a...

Any other R1100S riders here?
Curious if there are a few other S bike owners on this forum, I sold my '04 R1150R (aka Quicksilver) last year and picked up a low mileage '04 S bike from a private party near Louisville, KY. I know there were some folks asking questions on the 50R forum about the 11S...just wondering if any others ...

Bob, My intended route was to get across I-5 at Tacoma/Parkland then on down through Elbe to Morton. Then from Randle south on Forest Service route 25, etc, etc, to the Columbia Gorge near Carson. Crossing over to the Oregon side at Hood River, I was going to take OR35 to intersect OR26 on the SE si...

Re: saddles again
Had Corbin's on both Ducati's previously owned, a Sargent on the '04 '50R I sold last year. The Sargent was a more comfortable seat (I know, apples and oranges, Ducati's and Beemers  ) and was of higher quality construction. Best saddle I've ever had is the Rick Mayer seat he custom built for m...

Re: Do you guys always get this kind of customer service?
Folks at Sierra BMW are first class... I stopped in one day just passing through to check out the shop. Another traveler dropped in needing a new tire to continue his trip that day. Shop foreman took somebody off another job and about 40 minutes later that traveler was back on the road. So, yeah, I ...

Re: Let's talk bikini tops
Those Geza covers are really nice, but a bit pricey depending on the model...
You might try E-Z Touring...I got one of the bikini (!) styles for my 1100S, packs very small and is quite well made...
I believe they usually have a booth at the National Rallies...

Re: Questions from a newbie
Had my first brief ride today on my new (to me) R1150R. What a kick. Can't wait for the weekend. Couple of questions, if you will indulge me: 1) Will my Battery Tender Jr. work on this bike? It has the stock battery. 2) I've had a BMW K75 for a year, and a Suzuki Boulevard 800 for a year before tha...

Thanks for the heads up...I didn't know where Eagle is located so I just got lazy and asked the question... :) I've been into Beaudry Motorsports in Post Falls a couple of times and was curious if that's who you might be talking about... There's one highly recommended independant shop (Vallantine's)...
