So does the low comfort seat move you forward or back?? I'm on the smallish side (5'6") and can't afford to have my butt move back any further then it currently is with the stock low seat.
Thanks.

5'6", 29" inseam, low seat, std suspension.
Works OK, but I would like to try a low suspension sometime.

Fuel gage fix, yet?
hey, has BMW identified a fix for the failing fuel gages yet? I've had my second one fail (1 tank of fuel on the second one) and would really like one that works, since I paid for it!
Any way to "fix" it????
Thanks.

Re: Aftermarket Sidecases/Saddlebags for the R12R
I have the GIVI V35 side cases and V46 top case. No, I've never had the BMW cases and have no experience with them. I do like the GIVI cases and think it looks purpose build for the bike and really like the size (not too big but big enough to hold a full face helmet in each case). I don't take them ...

Re: POS Alert!
Interesting. I completed a valve adjsutment and didn't use any tools to remove the coil. If I remember correctly I removed the valve cover with the coil intact. After the valve cover was removed, I removed (I think, it's been a while) the coil. At the completion of the job I installed the valve cove...

OK, I didn't intend this to be a flame war.
I like the bike, as I said. A couple things have me concerned. Wanted some input. thank you all.

" I do agree that the post that started this thread is kind of freaky " I'm not sure if that was in regards to my original post, but if it was, I was very serious. I've been reading about the rear drive failures for some time, and unless it's the same person making the same post and using ...

Are you worried ...
about final drive failures, battery failures, EWS failures? I now have my second fuel gauge failure. I haven't called the dealer yet but I expect they wont have a fix from BWM yet. I'm worried about the final drive. Too many stories about unexpected failures, specially during trips far from home. An...

Re: To all the windshield Guru
Ok, just for gigges I took off my Ztechnik windshield and went for a ride. 60 mph, 75 mph, in both directions. I found it more enjoyable then with it installed! Sorry I spent the money. Quieter, no turbulance, and wind blast is minimal and very acceptable compared to the turbulance and noise with th...

Fuel Gauge out, again
Fuel gauge went out today, second one and only 2400 miles on the bike. I had the first failure "fixed" last fall, I'm still on the same tank of gas and it went out again. Crud. I disconnected the battery thinking maybe I would re-set it. Nope. Anyone else? I heard they were having problems...

Anyone used Topo graphs with the Zumo?
Hi all, I recently purchased a Zumo 550 and was wanting to use the "On the trail" maps to do some off the beaten path riding and hiking. Garin's web site doesn't offer Topo maps for the Zumo but in their "Freq asked questions" area they state that Topo graphs will work with "...

Re: Air management - something new
Honestly, I don't know yet. Too farting cold! 15 degrees F isn't my kind of riding weather! Also, I need to finish it. The top of the piece I added isn't secured, I need to add some supports to hold it at the angle I want. I wanted to make something adjustable, maybe with a small knob to turn to adj...

Air management - something new
So I have a Ztechnik Vstream, standard height, and not completely happy with it. Too much noise and turbulence. I also got the tall version and found almost no improvement. By the way, I'm 5'-6" w/ 30" inseam and the bike has the low seat. So I have a tall screen I'm not using, what to do?...

Kallakaki, You don't live int the wrong contry, you just need another hobby! Get a snow scooter for the winter! I've lived in Sweden (North of Uppsala in Soderhamn) and LOVED the snow.
