Re: Rockster Beautification Project & a tip for grips

I think the valve covers turned out excellent and they are such an improvement over my tired old gray ones. Now to decide what to do with the old pair. Sell as is or done up like these. Re: A sad farewell to one of the forums founder members...

I've been gone a while and was saddened to hear about Pat's death. I did get to meet him and ride with him on a Nor Cal ride up on the Delta back in August of 2004. There are some pics of him in this gallery: http://www.cliftonromig.com/Motorcycles/Rides/8152004-r1150rnet-Nor-Cal-Ride/469704_TvcZqj ...

Rockster Beautification Project & a tip for grips

Howdy all, I've been dormant on this site for a VERY long time, but thought I'd come out of hibernation to talk about my little Rockster beautification project. So, my ugly, bubbly, "Ferro" colored cylinder head covers were really starting to bug me, so I thought I would take them off and ...

Re: 3:10 To Yuma

I enjoyed the 3:10 to Yuma and if you haven't seen "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford" I highly recommend it. Gorgeous cinematography and, despite the awkward name of the film, something you shouldn't miss if you like westerns. A really moody, conflicted film full ...

Motorcycle Pictures

Using stumbleupon I found this site:

http://home.planet.nl/~motors-20th-century/motors.html

Pretty cool, if you like motorcycle pics... They are not super high resolution images, but there are 700 bikes listed.

Be glad you get 36 mpg...

Pretty much all my riding is city riding and I'd be happy to get 36mpg. In reality, pushing a heavy bike, a 255 lb heavy human and all the starting from a standstill, plus a perverse joy in twisting the throttle and downshifting, I get a pathetic 25mpg. I get closer to 40 on the highway. I know, I c...

It was three people, a girl and two guys, but they treated the bike as if the suspension was not adjustable. I cranked my rear shock all the way up and think I like it there even better.

Someone posted a link to a collection of suspension adjustment videos. http://www.onthethrottle.com/v2/ They actually had a pro putting people of different weights on a Black and White Rockster and measuring the dynamic sag. When he got to the guy who weighed 240, he said the stock suspension was sa...

I've worked in an art gallery and that, my friend, is as good, or better, than most of the artwork we were selling. Seriously!
I love it that you're an art teacher! You make more of a difference in the world than you can possibly know or appreciate! What age kids do you teach?

You want performance?! Check out this F22 Raptor video...

http://www.f22-raptor.com/media/video_gallery/videos/F22_AirShow_Langley.wmv "Fast (super-cruise*) and stealthy, and integrated avionics are cool, but what's really impressive is the F/A-22s low speed stability and maneuverability. In the late 40s and to early 60s aeronautical engineers were g...

Edition 80. A limited edition white Rockster made to commemorate the 80th anniversary of BMW motorcycles. I believe only 2003 were made. Each has a plate that gives the production # of the bike. Look through this thread for pics of the bike. Read the thread and you'll get more info.

Mike, My Ed80 forks also had paint problems and I got them replaced under warranty by the dealer here in SF, though it did take some work on my part to get them to do it. At first they said it wasn't covered, but when I asked to get the warranty denial in writing they suddenly sprang to action. I ha...
