Re: Wonderlich Seat
I have the Wunderlich seat on my F800R, and I think it's outstanding. At first I thought it was too firm, but after a long full day ride, that very firmness cut down on my fatigue. I love it. If I ever run into problems with my Sargent Seat on my R1200R, I will replace it with the Wunderlich. :smt023

Re: Torque settings
Lost Rider,
That is perfect!! Did that come out of a service manual, or the owner's manual? If it's the owner's manual, I feel like an idiot!
Thanks, Roland

Torque settings
Does anyone know a link to where I can find torque settings for servicing certain items on my bikes (R1200S, R1200R, F800R)? Looking for some basic stuff like: brake calipers, front/rear wheel bolts, valve covers, handle bars, etc., etc. I know this sounds stupid, but I have the fear of stuff loosen...

Re: The Yellow Headlight
Well, I am convinced. As per Finn's suggestion, I bought the ones from Amazon with his link. I saw someone else today riding, and they had a yellow headlight................picked them out of the crowd of cars IMMEDIATELY. I really don't care if they are legal or not. I would rather fight it in cour...

Re: Final drive 3.0
This IS very interesting! I too would like to know how much $, etc. etc. Was it done internally (inside the hub), or was the entire rear final drive replaced? What prompted you to do it (like problems with the previous drive failing?)?

ChiTown/LostRider----your shots make me fall in love with my bike every time. Thanks for posting those shots with Nancy. Now if only I could get my girl to love that bike as much as you and I do, and forget the Harleys.

Happy Thanksgiving
Happy TG to all my Beemer Rider friends. We all have lots to be thankful for, especially when we have friends and family to celebrate, and that we have such nice motorcycles that allow us the ability to ride far away from them when they get on our nerves. Ha! Ha! Seriously though, have a great, safe...

Re: Paint protector/cleaner/polisher
See, I was afraid of this. Not that anyone is wrong, but is anyone right? Ask a thousand people, get a thousand answers. I guess the only one who could tell me for sure would be the guy who paints the motorcycle panels at the BMW factory....or maybe not. :-k All I want to do is make the bike look go...

Re: Paint protector/cleaner/polisher
Thanks Mariner and Mustang. Actually, when I do wash the bikes, I do like to use Dawn. If it doesn't destroy my skin, it must be safe for the bike.

Re: Paint protector/cleaner/polisher
Wow, thanks for the follow-up Harry. Great info and good to know that I haven't done anything that wrong. I had told my friend about Pledge, and then he did research only to frighten the crap out of me about how bad it is for paint. So, what do I do---go on the internet and look at some forums (wors...

Paint protector/cleaner/polisher
If this has been discussed before, I am sorry for the redundancy ( I searched the past threads, but I did not get a clear answer). Here is my dilemma: 1.) If I ride my bike around for the day and it gets some grime or bugs on it, I remove them with a water-wet (sometimes very wet) wash cloth, and th...

Re: New Radar Detector question
OK, I guess Ziplock is the answer, and I need to quit stressing so much about it. But you know us BMW guys. I just find it so hard to believe someone hasn't made a protective cap for the Cad5 plugs.
I live in San Diego, so riding in the rain isn't a big worry, right?

New Radar Detector question
OK, this may be a lame question, but........ I just installed wiring on both my bikes for a Beltronics RD. Now here is my question---if I am not using the detector, and I have the wiring hanging free (ie. it's raining, and I would not be riding fast or using the RD), is there a plastic cover that I ...

Re: TPX radar detector
Well, I've got this one hooked up to my audio in my helmet, and it screams. Haven't had a chance to try it on my R12S, but I imagine it would do a similar job. If you see me posting about a ticket, I was wrong (as you see me now knocking on my wood desk and forehead).

Re: TPX radar detector
Well, it's all hooked up and ready to hunt for Mr Policeman. I did the same set-up on my R12S (minus the GPS).

Re: TPX radar detector
Thanks guys. I think I will stick with my Belltronics 995. I have one in my car, and I will just get one to fit the bikes. My Belltronics has saved my ass enough times, it's not worth experimenting with another brand.

TPX radar detector
Does anyone have any experience with this RD, and is it any good? Nice that it is designed for "outdoor" motorcycle use (rain/dust proof), but does it catch the cops???? Any advice would be appreciated on this particular device.
