Almost everything needs a "warm-up" time. My bike needs a few minutes of warm up to get the oil and metals up to operating temps.
I also take 10-20 minutes when I start out on a day to get my mind and body warmed up before riding aggressively.

Re: The Dark side.
"they were kind enough to offer me $500 for my R1150r against full price on their bike"
I've got an 05 r50R with 30k and would love a new bike. But I know that is probably what I would be offered in trade so I don't even look. It would just make me mad.

Re: Rubber parts deteriorating
Read some where, awhile ago, that dot 5 fluid could be used as a preservative for rubber. Can't find where I saw this. Any comments?

Re: rear seat cover
I found this here:

I had started to try and make my own form. To much work reinventing the wheel. This was much easier.
There many on the bay.

This what I did with the seat http://i1314.photobucket.com/albums/t571/Toano23168/image_zps15582a48.jpg I glued it after cutting the straps off. http://i1314.photobucket.com/albums/t571/Toano23168/image_zpsa5362b3a.jpg The inside gives me a bit of storage. http://i1314.photobucket.com/albums/t571/To...
