Re: Dumb clutch question...
You will always get bubbles out the bleeder. Rob explained this to me, but I can't remember why. Also when bleeding that way, you can never get all the fluid out of the slave, unless you pump the clutch with some kind of cover over the reservoir to keep it from spewing to the ceiling. Rob's techniq...

Re: Dumb clutch question...
You don't really even need to bleed it. If you take off the clutch fluid reservoir cover and tilt the bars to where the clutch side is highest...not allowing fluid to overflow out of course...the air bubbles will migrate quite easily to the reservoir. Every now and then come out and VERY slightly p...

Re: Dumb clutch question...
You've gotten a little air in the system. Not a big problem. You will have to bleed the clutch master cylinder. You will need the bleeder nipple from BMW. Here is a link to a site with lots of help and specifically addresses what you need to do. http://home.mindspring.com/~jabrooks/ Wayne Thanks Wa...

Dumb clutch question...
Hi all,
I loosened my clutch cable at the resovior to move it slightly and pumped the clutch lever while it was loose - like a dumbass.
Now of course I have now clutch pressure since it spewed a bit of fluid. I've tightened back down and still no pressure.
What do I do?
thanks,
Jim

Stock Seat Upgrade
Hi all,
I have the stock BMW seat - it's ok, but could be more cushy on longer rides. Thought about going the Sargent route, but before I spend that kinda $ -- any recommendations on a cheaper solution? Seat cover, etc...
thanks!

Re: Changing Fuel line disconnects
Wow - feel a bit foolish now... I read that removal of the tank was necessary to replace the filter on a thread a while back... since I have no maintenance manual I could not verify that...
thanks!

Changing Fuel line disconnects
Hi all, I just received my new Omega disconnects. I was gonna swap them out this weekend. Can I just remove the existing ones and replace with the Omegas - or do I need to replace the fuel lines themselves? I don't want it to be a bigger deal than it needs to... I have no problems/issues currently w...

I'm about to order a Remus exhaust kit and K&N filter - probably won't help from an efficiency stand point... But it'll be fun!

Fuel Economy - what am I missing?
Hi all, I'm new to this bike & forum...very happy with both. I am perplexed however... I'm not getting near the fuel efficiency I would assume for this bike. - I fill up completely - 93 octane - city driving - Fuel light comes on at about 115 miles - 5.4 gallon tank - 1.3 of that is reserve So, ...

Re: Trickle Charger recommendation
I have used a Battery Doc for the last 3 years, and it has saved me over $100. How do I know? Because I killed the first battery due to infrequent riding habits. Since then, I have had no problems with my second battery. Its small, gel friendly, and came with the correct adapter for the BMW accesso...

Trickle Charger recommendation
Hi all, I'm a newbie.... proud new owner of an '04 ABS R1150R (thanks Richard!). Love the bike. I'll have lot's of questions for sure. To start: What's the best trickle charger for this bike? I'm getting a slight whining noise when engaging either brake - is this normal for an ABS bike? that's all f...

Considering an R1150R - newbie
Hi all, I'm considering an '04 R1150 - just sold my '98 TBS.... Looking to do some longer rides and enjoy a more comfortable (but still fun) bike. My concern is that I'll kick myself for not stepping up to the 1200 (there are a few used '07s out there). --But the price difference is HUGE... Would it...

R1150R Year differences (newbie)
Hi all!
I'm considering an R1150R -- Looking at a nice 2002. What are the differences by year of the R1150R? And... what is different about the Rockster?
Many thanks!
