Re: Throttle Body R1150 and Rockster - Swappable?
Have you tried going online to Max BMW or A&S BMW to try to determine if the parts are the same or different. You can view the parts microfiches on those sites. That may help.

Some of them do it, some don't. It's a general characteristic of these engines.

Re: looking by buy 2003 R1150R
If you haven't bought a battery already, you really need to think about the Odyssey PC680. Yes you can find cheaper batteries, but you are getting cheaper batteries. Of course you'll be the one walking when the cheaper battery fails a long way from home. Just my opinion.

Re: Wiring issues
Thanks for posting about this problem. I went out to check those wires today on my bike in preparation of installing a high-mounted, flashing brake-light on my trunk and found the outer rubber sheathing around the wires running from the fuse box to the rear had completely disintegrated! Can't decid...

Re: Stripped Oil Filter???
Since the OP hasn't been back it must have worked. I have done this before with mixed results. Sometimes the sheet metal screws just ripped out of the filter bottom leaving an even bigger problem.

Coefficients of friction, temperature, precipitation, velocity, etc, etc. Its curious how the police could pinpoint this within a 4 kph range. You need a good attorney, (maybe not even good) who can plant enough doubt on the police estimate. Shouldn't be too difficult.

Re: Nitrogen in tires.
I am not entering the debate, merely pointing the way !!! :D  I like that statement! I can't add to the conversation, but it does raise more questions for me to ask my car shop next time I take my coupe in for it's check up. The last time I took it in, I notice my tire valve stem caps had been...

Re: Nitrogen in tires.
Nitrogen is usually bought by the bottle. You just exchange bottles and depending on the size it can be allot of gas. Its cheaper than buying a compressor and water seperator. If a man wants clean dry air its a good way to go. I keep a bottle in my hangar for AC tires. One bottle lasts a long time....

Re: Nitrogen in tires.
Jeffers, I don't believe Oliver meant that as a direct insult. Your original question raised an interesting process point. Next time you go to a parts store, hardware store, or mechanics shop, look around and see how many air compressors you find. then look around and see how many nitrogen compresso...

I don't understand why you feel that "Stella" wouldn't be good for longer rides, but only for weekenders.
