Re: Windshield Turbulence
I love my Parabellum. I have a 18 or 20 inch tall shield, can't remember which, it is not tall enough so I put the MRA adjustable on it. The turbulence hitting my chest is much much less and when I ride in the rain my crotch distant get soaked. The adjustability is awesome with the MRA. It makes for...

Re: Windshield Turbulence
I added the MRA adjustable spoiler to both my wife's and my windshields. The adjustability is awesome to dial in what you want. I can have my modular helmet open all the way or closed. I only close mine when in high winds or when turbulence caused by semi trucks. Oh! and whenever I really feel like ...

TPM
This post is for the DIY riders with TPM that are not working. The easy way to keep them functioning is to buy your tires and new TPMs from the BMW dealer and have them replaced every time you replace your tires. Me, always trying to save money, buys his tires from Cycle gear and has them replace th...

Re: Seat latch cable has broken
No safety screws! After I removed the side case racks I found the screws I needed to remove to remove the assembly and get to the latch lock, Once removed I asked around until I found a guy that was able to put a cable inside the housing with the proper ends. $20 instead of the $88 BMW wanted. Thank...

Re: In search of a Low Seat
On my wife's R we did what the recommended above. She has the standard low seat. The upholsterer was able to reach up from the bottom and pull some foam out. This not only made it lower but more comfortable. She just turned 60,000 on hers and the shocks needed replacement. I installed Hyperpro front...

Re: Seat latch cable has broken
Thank you for your response. I had removed all the screws except the two outside ones. They must be hide by the tail rack supports. I thought I would have to remove the tail rack to perform the removal. But I have a trip planned for sunday to ride a week into Oregon, so I just wanted to find a way t...

Seat latch cable has broken
2010 R1200R cable to seat latch has broken. I got the seat off but I am having difficulty disassembling the key latch to replace or possibly having someone make me a new cable. Does anyone know how to dissemble the key lock mechanism? I do not have a shop manual. I believe I have seen where people h...

Re: R1200R value?
There is one in Ellensburg Wa. Similarly outfitted with 14,000 miles for $5500. I think that price is to low. So I would say 6 to 7 thousand, depending on area you live. The ones below 6K go quick around here and the over 7K are on craigslist for awhile. I personally think the is the best bike no on...

Re: Can I bang on the starter?
Kind of funny. I responded to your post with ideas awhile back. Then a month ago my bike did the same thing. I did most of the things I suggested you do with one extra thing I saw someone else recommend. My battery showed 12.5 volts but when I hit the start button the voltage dropped to 8. Not enoug...

Re: Old Fourm members
MY wife and I do not fit the member since 2008 since we didn't purchase her 2009 R until 2011. She really wanted a cruiser style bike. But the ones big enough to cruise the highway are to big for her. I finally sold her on the R with the weight. The 750 Shadow she was riding was heavier than the R. ...

Re: Can I bang on the starter?
Just a few ideas since there have been no response as of yet. Are there any warning lights on? I once had a rear tail light that was shorting out inside the bulb. The tail light filament was broken and was touching the stop light portion of the wires. Replaced the bulb and started no problem. I real...

Re: Gauges don't respond when ignition is tuned on.
Update. I went to the BMW service department to show them what my motorcycle was doing. They said they had not ever seen what mine was doing before and for me to leave it with them. I was hoping my issue was something they had seen before. I was not prepared to leave it with them. I decided I need t...

Gauges don't respond when ignition is tuned on.
I have a 2010 R1200R. A year ago after I installed a standard hight front shock my instruments seemed delayed when I turned on the ignition. Sometimes when going through the gears hard the engine would die and the instruments would go off. Just as I would get ready to panic, everything fired up agai...
