Back tire rim has a leaky dent

My Rockstar that was purchased 4 years ago had a dent on the back wheel at the time of purchase. It was never an issue. I replaced the tire a year ago and every once in a while I would hear the tire air come out and then it would stop. It rarely ever happened. All i did was check the tire pressure, ...

Re: Headlight replacement tips on Rockster

Thanks for the reply! It was not hard at all. It was lack of confidence and knowledge. I have the gift of demolition. If you are aware of "The Midas Touch", then know I have been known to have the "Enema Touch". What ever I touch turns to crap. Not in this case! Thanks again.

Headlight replacement tips on Rockster

The time has come after purchasing the bike three years ago. My main low beam headlight is out. I looked for tutorials on the Rockster but all I see is replacement for GS and the clip/assembly system looks totally different. Any tips, pictures or threads that I can be pointed to would be HIGHLY appr...

Slave Cylinder Blues

Hello fellow riders. I have removed the old slave cylinder and the bearings spilled everywhere. I found a slave cylinder for sale brand new at Beemer Boneyard made by a German company but not BMW. They claim to be just as good to identical in quality. Any reason I should not buy it? Does 50% saving ...

Re: Oilhead Cam Chain tensioner and Guide Rail

I'd do a thorough service first : oil, valves, including the end float gap, and throttle bodies (in that order) to be sure it isn't any of them (which is more likely). Then I'd sort out the replacement cam chain tensioner. If you're still hearing it - I'd also suggest checking that the clutch slave...

Re: Oilhead Cam Chain tensioner and Guide Rail

Well…Not exactly the pep talk I was hoping. If I have to remove and disassemble everything as you showed in pictures, then this is absolutely out of my realm of abilities. I will do as advised. I will service the oil, valves, including the end float gap, and throttle bodies and hope for the “magic” ...

Re: Oilhead Cam Chain tensioner and Guide Rail

I noticed the sound coming from the left about a month ago. It was a very low pitched squeal at best with a little rattle not all the time. Seldom. I figured it could be the tensioner. I realized that the upgrade would take care of that but did not realize till yesterday that a bad tensioner is a re...

Oilhead Cam Chain tensioner and Guide Rail

Wanted to get some feedback. I have had my Rockster bike for over a year. It’s got less than 48,000 miles. I have done a few maintenance procedures including the Servo Assisted Brake flush as well as fluids, oil, filters and misc things. All great! However for the last few days I keep hearing a sque...

Great tire advice/riding report

I replaced my old front tire with the Shinko Raven tire and I have to say it’s just as many of you promised. A lot of tire for not a lot of money. I gave it a thorough test yesterday and nearly 100 miles later they really stick while feeling smooth. Not to mention I feel a whole lot safer with thread.

Re: Removing front wheel confusion!

Great! (Boy do I feel silly!!) It’s seems it’s a pretty straight forward procedure. I always took my K75 to a local shop for tires but this time I wanted to do it myself. I have read a few articles where people don’t remove the brake system. They simply remove the wheel while warning about damaging ...

Removing front wheel confusion!

I am ready to replace my front tire and after watching a few You Tube videos and even a few documents on oil heads they all indicate that the speedometer cable needs to be removed from the front. Maybe I need new glasses or better lighting in my garage but I can’t seem to find where the speedometer ...

All of you have been an amazing support! Thanks.

It’s now almost a year since I got my Rockster. Not having full confidence or experience in maintenance of a modern bike, specially one over-engineered, I can honestly say the team work from all of you guys has kept me rolling. Special thanks to Jim Bade for his DVD series. Sweatmark! You have been ...

Wow Kirby!! Is this the tire you talked about? (Shinko 009 Raven Radial Tire 120/70ZR17 Front 87-4041)
It seems to be a really good little secret. People love this tire! I read a few reviews and it's a solid performer for a bargain price.

Re: The day has COME! ABS-Servo Flush is upon me!

I did it!! I followed all the steps and had some surprises but nothing that I could not figure out. When pumping the front brake and flushing it, the fluid squirted making a mess. We had to hold the cover the MC every time to prevent it from making a mess. We removed the back ABS to be able to put t...

Re: The day has COME! ABS-Servo Flush is upon me!

I knew YOU would be the one answering Peels! Thanks for your continuous support! BTW, have you ever used a bleeder? Lastly, I heard someone say that they had their bike connected to the battery tender to avoid draining the battery? Any advice or useful tip/trick is HIGHLY appreciated. Thanks again P...
