Maybe a lot less mileage with that Moto GP compound. When it's gone, try the PR2 (or the new PR3). Very nice balance of grip, handling, and mileage, IMHO.Xdot wrote:Wound up putting on a Michelin Pilot Power. Bit stickier tire with a little less mileage but I got what seemed like a pretty good deal on it.

Re: Fuel Cat Stabilizer - How Useful?
Don't be a sucker. Among the ridiculous claims of this nonsense gizmo is that it removes carbon from fuel. Ummmm, the largest component of gasoline is hydroCARBON. Remove the carbon, and it won't be gasoline anymore. But don't worry: the little Fuel Cat has no chance of breaking the bonds and actual...

Re: No front brakes
You need to do two things: 1. Figure out which type of ABS you have. I think oyu have Integral ABS, but I might be wrong. 2. Seach this forum to find links to illustrated step-by-step how-to guides on bleeding ABS systems. Or, take it to an authorized dealer. The fluid level you checked is just one ...

Your owner's manual includes a chart to oil thickness to your climate, for whichever bike you're wondering about.

Re: Help with R1150R ABS Fluid Change
Today, thanks to the excellent document produced by Hager and Gilman, http://users.rcn.com/dehager/service/service_abs3.pdf , I successfully serviced the integral ABS on my '04 Rockster. I also flushed the clutch circuit while I was at it. The special funnel was definitely worthwhile. The only chall...

Re: For those who adjust their own valves
Unless something very bad and unusual happens to your cams, followers, or valve stems, valves will always get tighter over time. That is because the valve faces slam against the valve seats, and over time they "bed in," which puts the valve closer to the rocker arms, reducing clearance. Th...

If you can wait a couple more weeks, Michelin is about to release the new Pilot Road 3, including sizes that fit our Rocksters. It's a very interesting-looking tire. See it here: http://www.compacc.com/Michelin-Pilot-R ... pound-Tire

Re: Honda Fit/Nissan Versa?
I rent cars frequently whilst traveling on business. I recently drove a Versa for a week. Two things I did not like: 1. No console/armrest for my right elbow. That one constantly bothered me. It appears that the 2011 Versa has added this much-needed bit. 2. No key lock or latch release on hatchback....

Re: MPG - A total let down!
Factoring in the amount of fuel used up until my reserve light came on, I have been getting between 27-30 MPG. That's the same as my '99 323i when driing in the city! Perhaps you are measuring fuel usage indirectly - and thereby introducing error. Calculate mileage when you re-fill your fuel tank. ...

Re: Pirelli Strada vs Nail
Nice bike the ZZR, if it had a shaft drive it could be a real temptation. Heck the ZZR chain is no biggie. I spray some DuPont dry teflon lube on it every 300 miles or so, and that's it. I've had to adjsut it only once in 12K miles. ZZR power is unrelenting and intoxicating. It is not a wheelie-pro...

Re: Pirelli Strada vs Nail
I think he wrote 1500 miles, not 15000, and just put the comma in the wrong place. No way that tire has 15K miles on it. Patching from the inside could be better than plugging, but on many tires it takes a LOT of work to prepare the inside surface, because some of the manufacturers mold a pebble-gra...

You can buy a new Clymer manual that covers the Rockster for about $30.
