yjleesvr,
Every considered trying a chin curtain to reduce wind noise?
Shoei provided one for my RF1000, for free... and it works great reducing wind noise! (My bike is completely naked... and I like it that way!)

Since I have sensitive ears I rearched this several years ago, and found what appeared to be objective data indicating the Shoei RF1000 was just about as quiet as much more expensive helmets. Of course, that was a few years ago, and the state of the art of quietness might be different today. If you ...

Would suggest the standard ones... which are already a couple OZs heavier than the weights that come on the bike. I know, b/c I weighed 'em both. In my case, I wanted to similar feel as stock... which turned out to be the case... eventhough TM were a little bit heavier. Why would you want to go heav...

Great review Michael!
Hey Michael... Hope you are well. Had the same impressions of the R1200R. Will be interested to hear what you think of the R1200S... and compare notes. The 1098 will also be interesting... tough to get a ride on one of those! To me, its the most beautiful stock bike out there. But, despite its beaut...

Have my RF1000 for several years now... and have been very pleased with it... In fact, I got it for the same reason... one of the quietest helmets at a reasonable cost. I actually got mine new on eBay for a fantastic price. Do you wear... (not the right name) the chin wind deflector? This makes it e...

IMHO... stick with the smaller size. I actually weighed the stock bar end and compared them with the weight on the Throttle Meisters. Quite honestly I dont remember the total exact weights, but the smaller one is about 2 oz heavier than the stock bar weights... and the bigger one as I recall, is abo...

As you prolly also noticed, the new tensioner has a stronger spring than the old one (at least it was stronger than mine with about 14K on it).
