Re: Well, Limited Edition #196 is no more...
LOL I was just looking for the "Like" button on this web page. Congrats! Back in the saddle again. Perhaps transplant the Edition 80 badge onto 90th Anniversary bike? Unfortunately, the Ed 80 ID plate is gone with the salvaged bike. I was able to transfer the license plate from Gryndl to ...

Re: Well, Limited Edition #196 is no more...
Olympia "Stealth" (mesh) - bought it for my ride to Denver in August 2009. I'm tall and long limbed so the men's fit me.
Still does the job, though its a bit stained. I don't think you can get all silver like that anymore.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v287/Lion_Lady/R1200R/NEWBIKE%202.jpg New ride! 90th Anniversary. I took it for a short spin last weekend (hubby rode it home from Jacksonville, FL). Already got my drop/tipover out of the way. Managed to fall over (forgot the stand was up) with the tank on a pile ...

Re: Wanting a luggage tray, stock front seat, rear OEM suspen
I have a stock "front" seat here somewhere. I crashed my bike with the Sargent, so the OEM one is in the parts box in the garage.
Message me, if you haven't come up with one yet.

Picking up a 90th Anniversary R1200R...
Even though I can't ride it home. I will be taking the bike for a short spin at the dealer before hubby gears up for the trip back to Lynchburg with it. I am so stoked! I've already ordered a gas-cap mounted tank bag, and some 3M reflective sheets in yellow and gold to add some customized conspicuit...

I found my next bike! A 90th Anniversary R1200R, in JAX (seemed appropriate). Heading down next weekend to pick it up.

These are the tank pads. I put mine on within about 3 months of owning the bike. They stayed on, no problems, until the end. They're somewhat stiff rubber, about 1/4 inch thick (or a bit less). The black doesn't detract from the bike's looks. http://www.wunderlichamerica.com/motorcycle/1250084.html P

Re: Hello from Melbourne Australia....Newbie Rockster '03
Sweet bike! And to let you know, the Edition 80 didn't come with a centerstand . I bought mine brand new and was a bit startled to learn this, myself. It was one of 2 add-ons that I had the dealer (Bob's BMW) install before I took possession. The other being the OEM windscreen. My Rockster had 11 mi...

Re: Rockster Beautification Project & a tip for grips
Howdy! Been a long time away... My left grip is "sticky." Not sure what I got on it way back when, but the rubber has smooshed and deformed on the surface. Came off on my glove as well. The heat still works, the barest surface is all that is affected, so I'm not inclined to replace the gri...

Where are you located? (Fill in your profile). You might find a club local to you to check out a tech day, etc.

Re: Question about selling the bike
You could leave the luggage racks on, and price the bike as "naked." List the cases/rack separately as a footnote to the bike price (or negotiable). A lot of folks will likely find themselves looking for cases anyhow. Keeping them with the bike until the bike sells is perhaps the way to go...

Only 17000K miles? Where/how was the bike stored in between rides? Seems to me there's more to this than you're letting on.

If you're worried about cosmetic damage from a tipover, get the plastic OEM drop guards. If you do get in something worse, it is easy enough to replace scarred cylinder covers through beemerboneyard, etc Why add all that extra weight "just in case?" P Means you can ride home.... ;) Yeah, ...

Looking at the gravel pull off on the outside of that corner, I wonder is you hit a layer of bit of sand/grit as you rolled on the throttle.

How many miles on the bike? If over 25K, does it still have the OEM shocks? Could be a combination of issues.

Re: MPG - A total let down!
Winter gas may be the culprit (ethanol added). See if you notice a change in gas usage as the last of the winter mix is pumped out of fuel storage at your local gas stations. During the summer months, my fuel light comes on at around 145-153 on the tripmeter. During the cold months, it will come on ...
