Re: R1200RS
Base price here is €14800, but it's hard to get a base bike, so you always end up paying more

R1200RS
My Local dealer has the R1200RS in, I took one for a 40 min test ride today on mixed fast and twisty roads. I did own an R1100RS, and currently own a R1100R and a F800GS. I was very impressed with the R1200RS, the motor is very smooth and the standard exhaust has a beautiful sound, this is an area t...
Shocks
Just invested in a pair of Wilbers 530/540 shocks, costly but the ride and handling is superb!

Sweeeet! I love that oiled bronze on the headlight / instrument cluster, somehow disguises the headlight bracket way better.
How is the sound from the GPR Deeptone, I bet its great, did it come with a connecting piece for the Bike?

Re: Has anyone mounted a half fairing on an R1100R?
Nice work mike! How do you like the Oxford heated grips? I'd like to add some to my bike (Oxford or some other after market brand) Do you find they can be installed fairly neatly? That is a good question about how I like the heated grips, the truth is, since buying the bike 8 months ago I have neve...

Re: Has anyone mounted a half fairing on an R1100R?
Late reply (and I need to work up pics!) But I remounted my fairing yesterday with the supports coming from the handlebars. On the bottom side of the aluminum, right before you get to the grip/black part, there is one threaded hole on each side of the bars (m6/1.00, I believe) I bought a 2'x0.5&quo...

Re: Puig Flyscreen / Emgo Fairing
Got a better color match for the headlight fairing paint and matched the hand guards while I was at it. Its rattle can quality but I'm happy with the result.

Re: Replacement stainless steel handlebar/ brake caliper bol
I would say well worth doing, When I purchased my 96 about 8 weeks ago, I was concerned if I had made the right decision because there was some noticeable corrosion. The good news was all of it cleaned up with a bit of elbow grease. I replaced my front engine bolts with SS ones from Motorworks in th...

Re: Puig Flyscreen / Emgo Fairing
Your fairing is a quarter fairing, looks great BTW, a half fairing mounts to the bike frame and is stationary, it doesn't pivot with the front fork. The Ducati 750/900SS fairing is exactly what I want for my bike but I've yet to see an R1100R with one. OK, I got you now, Gimbel of Germany ( http://...

Re: Puig Flyscreen / Emgo Fairing
I like the seat pattern Mike, I did not know I had that option when I ordered mine. I'm still trying to figure out what half fairing would fit our bikes. I think I got my seat cover from a different supplier than you did. Mine came from a UK supplier on Ebay (topgaiters), they really only do this p...

Re: Has anyone mounted a half fairing on an R1100R?
I too mounted an emgo over the winter - I've been very happy! http://www.r1150r.org/board/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=30795 It mounts via the headlight screws, and I've had no issues with it. My friend who also has an R11R made some extra mounts out of aluminum - they screw in to the handlebars, there...

Re: Puig Flyscreen
I decided to go for a new look and a more effective screen. I had a good experience with the Emgo (Viper) headlight fairing previously on a BMW R65, so decided to try one again. Its a tight fit due to the instrument pods on the earlier R, but just doable, I added some foam padding between the pods a...

Re: Fuel gauge / pump flange orientation
Right, I figured it was different to what you encountered, it looks like a simple variable resistor. There is an associated damping unit/relay under the seat, beginning to suspect that as a possible culprit. I'm afraid a screw-up of my own making attaching the pump leads delayed me so long. I never ...

Re: Fuel gauge / pump flange orientation
Rainy day today, so tackled all of the in tank stuff, replaced everything, all hoses, filter and pump using the Euromotoelectrics kit. It turned out there was no problem with orientation, and mechanically the level float and arm seems fine and unobstructed. So, I have to conclude either the unit is ...

Re: Fuel gauge / pump flange orientation
Thanks for the reply CycleRob, I never considered that the fuel pump sock might be too high  Though thinking about it, because the behavior of the light is so truly reversed, I'm wondering if it could be some sort of electrical fault. :-k Next rainy Saturday, I'll be opening it up, I need to ...

Re: Fuel level sending unit mystery -- FIXED!!!
Do you mean that the light is on with a full tank but then goes off when the tank gets low? Thanks for the reply, yes, exactly that. I had the tank off to replace all of the external hoses. I'm still assembling the parts to renew all of the internals so have not opened it yet. However after I put e...
