Re: Super Two Part Plastic Bonding Glue

Thank you for replies. I am sure it was not JB Weld; it was something else and I think it mixed up like a putty. The plastic rear turn stalk on my (gasp) Ducati Monster 696 has snapped and the two pieces are standard plastic and should be glueable; Crazy Glue has failed several times.

Super Two Part Plastic Bonding Glue

Can't find it on the forum, but I think it was here that I read about some magic bonding glue that formed up like putty and then just turned into a weld. I have super glued a plastic part about 10 times and it keeps coming apart. Anybody recall the thread, seems to me it was available direct from th...

Re: AIR HAWK Recommendations?

Pay about double to get the latest Air Hawk, out about a year, with a space cut out for your man junk. I think it was about 200 bucks. I put 8,000 miles on mine between San Diego, Anchorage, Seattle, Denver and back to San Diego. Do not over inflate. Just takes a little air to do the job. Makes all ...

Seattle to Denver

Been on the road about a week; hitting rain and even a little snow; tonight finds me in Laramie, striking distance of Denver but too freaking cold to go futher; last 150 miles have been flashing temp of under 35 degrees; R12 running great except Battery Failure light has been on as much as it's been...

Re: Long Distance with the R1200R

PS: Read the topic on ZUMO 350 AND DEAD BATTERY underneath your topic. That is why I said have it done by someone who knows what doing....it's not a simple plug and play. Also, your GPS has got to talk to your helmet via BLUE TOOTH or you will crack up trying to read the GPS, or trying to listen to ...

Re: Long Distance with the R1200R

Get a second Trust Deed on your house and buy the Garmin that is the equivalent of the BMW branded Nav IV Zumo I think, have somebody who knows what they are doing wire it in with the special mount. It will have an output earphone jack, which the Nav IV does not and I think comes with XM Sirius radi...

Re: CHP leaves BMW, goes back to H-Ds

Not strictly related but guilty pleasure watched 1973 Clint Eastwood MAGNUM FORCE. Lots of San Francisco PD actions scenes on Guzzi 750's except for the final scenes on the ship where they switched to Triumph T100's because lighter and easirt for the stunts. Triva says after the SFPD bad motocops co...

Re: replacement of oem heated handlebar grips

It cost me a lot of money when I hosed the OEM heated grips trying to get cover off and put different diameter grips on; can't be done without destroying the OEM grips. Get used to OEM size or the "larger diameter" of the foam jobs...I did trim the ends of the foam grips and they look bett...

Re: TKC 80's

I went all through this last spring when planning my Alaska trip on my 07 R1200R/ eventually wound up on Continental Trail Attack 2's These were more aggressive looking than the old Trail Attacks. I have Scorpions on my 800 ABS Triumph and realized too late that they look even more agressive than th...

Re: Ran fine, then quit??!!

Probably gotta be the battery; a battery tender will not bring a bad battery back to life. BT does not put out enough to bring battery up to over 13 volts where it needs to be at full charge; 12 volts flat is nearly dead. With key on and BT disconnected there has to be a strong 12.4 at least to get ...
