Update. Well the cat thing was all a misunderstanding on my part. To get rid of it a complete new system would be required. That's an expense too far at the moment. So the new can is on. Was a struggle as the new fitment was not quite perfectly round so it had to be 'rounded out' with a clever tool....

Thanks all. I'd not understood that the link pipe is just to connect up the new can. So I'm just gonna go with the replacement can, which arrived last friday...Not got it on yet. Thanks for your reply CRob. What I think is the cat is under the bike immediately after where the '2' goes into '1' and before the pipe to the can. There is a wire through a metal sleeve coming from it...? I'll try and take a pic!

The designers have produced a bike meant to be cheap and it looks it. The R1200R displayed nearby looked far more 'complete' and 'BMW like' as compared to the R9T looked like a cheap Chinese export. I think you've missed the point of the bike entirely. It's not supposed to look "complete"...

Thanks for your reply. I think I have the charger set to the canbus mode. It's been on all night and its still flashing, showing it's doing something so I think it's Ok. I have it connected to a socket on the side of the engine. The manual is not that clear. At least to an idiot like me...!

My f800r is a 2010 model. Do I need to have my optimate4 charger set to canbus or regular mode for charging?? I don't know what canbus is or if I even have it.....
