Just to clarify, you want to use a battery maintainer, not a trickle charger .
The maintaner turns on when the battery voltage gets to a specific level, charges it up to it's upper limt then shuts off, a trickle charger maintains the same charge level, doesn't shut off .

Re: New battery drains with heated grips on high
How many watts do the heated grips use ?? Isn't the alternator in the 600 - 700 watt output area . I don't think you have a battery issue, if you replaced the battery with an upgraded version, the Odyssey PC 680 and the problem still exists . I use the grips on high on my '02 R for 20-30 minutes and...

Gas Grille Surprise !!!
Went to start my gas grille on Friday, lit the first burner with a wood match, then turned the two other valves on . When the other two burners lit, there was a thumping / thrashing sound from inside the grille . I moved about 5 steps back from the grille, not knowing what was happening . I ...

Re: Some other cold weather ideas
I moved to the low deserts of central Aridzona, just about eliminated the need for cold weather gear .
But now I need to get concerned about hot weather riding gear !!!

Re: Question about aging headlamp bulbs and eyes.
I've been using PIAA Superwhite H4 headlight bulbs since the OEM bulb burned out . Alot more more light over OEM . LED's in the indicator internal lighting helps as well . After getting into my first altercation with the 1150, opposite direction car making a left turn in front of me, I installed Wun...

Re: Front brakes on 2002 R1150 non ABS
Do you still have the OEM rubber brake lines ?? If you do, I would suggest replacing them with braided stainless lines when you can get around to it . I replaced the brake lines on my '02 1150R in April, when the line from the master cylinder to the 'splitter' for the ABS on the right side of the 'f...
