Re: Driving on mountain roads

Thank you Steve, great advice and much appreciated. My comment led to the book recommendation, which led to a couple of posts on another forum which led to me registering for the Lee Parks total control riding course this Saturday here in Arizona and getting the book. I'll post pictures and feedback...

Re: Driving on mountain roads

I bet you will find the book "Proficient Motorcycling" by David Hough to be very helpful. It was for me.[/quote]

There is a new edition, just ordered through Amazon. Thank you for the suggestion.

Re: I'm selling my 07' R1200R.

The brochure for the sales reps is very informative. Thank you for posting it. I love the pictorial color coding of what came from our bikes and what is new. I have a question. The specs show the alternator at 600 watts. I had also seen specs on the R1200R saying the European version is 740 but US i...

Re: Driving on mountain roads

This is a very interesting discussion indeed. When it comes to twisties, I am definitely a novice. I haven't had much contact with other riders; all my experience has been trial and error. I was reading about initiating a turn by counter-steering in the Hurt report. The adage "to initiate a tur...

Re: Sport Screen vs no screen

I started riding Valentine's day, 2012. After a couple of thousand miles on a 2009 Monster 696, I flew from Phoenix to Detroit, picked up a 2007 Monster S2R 1000 and rode it 2400 miles back to Phoenix. It was a fast way to get long distance riding experience. The monster's screen is a flimsy version...

Re: Vibration vs. RPM vs. Throttle Position

I just want to express my appreciation to everyone that has contributed to this thread. it is music to my ears. My bike addiction is only 18000 miles - Ducati S2R1000 - one year old. Just picked up a 2012 R12R with 3,800 miles in Florida and rode it home to Phoenix. It seems whatever these things do...

Re: Filing DOT complaints regarding the fuel strip

I am a new member and thought it was appropriate to use the information here to file a DOT regarding the fuel strip. I have a couple of Ducati S2R1000's. Ducati agreed to replace all affected fuel tanks in the US because of a class action judgment. The tanks are expanding-nobody is sure if it is eth...
