Re: Clutch Smell after riding ~100 miles
I had this happen to me, as well as what felt like slipping. Turned out I didn't have the appropriate slack on the clutch cable.

Re: Parting Out Sale Feeler Thread
Would love to get my hands on the touring screen and ohlins. Not sure I can come up with the scratch for the ohlins, but I'll try.

Any chance you'd part with the touring screen before selling?

Re: New Fairing
Hey Steve,
I'm not super familiar with the 1150, but I know it has been done. I actually got the idea from seeing this fairing on an 1150.
Good luck!

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I like the look of the TraX cases as well!
Did you end up going that route? I'm also considering the givi trekker monokey's in black

Bumping an ancient thread here, but my dad has these aftermarket bars on a 12r and would like to go back to stock.
Anyone wanna swap, or have a used stock set they'd like to sell?

Nice work mike!
How do you like the Oxford heated grips? I'd like to add some to my bike (Oxford or some other after market brand)
Do you find they can be installed fairly neatly?

Hey John,
Hope you like the emgo. With the brackets my fairing is dead stable - at least up to 100 mph anyway...

For now I may keep it and throw knobblies on it.
Its off a non-abs bike - not sure if it would play nice on your bike?

Re: Has anyone mounted a half fairing on an R1100R?
Well - scored a 3sp front wheel w/ rotors off ebay for $250.
They're a straight swap (for a non-abs bike, anyway)
So now I can run a 17" tire front & rear - I'll probably pick up a 5sp rear down the road, but for now I'm happy to get to run pr4's front & rear.

Re: Has anyone mounted a half fairing on an R1100R?
mine is the '01 r1100rl as well. Came with the cross spokes, chrome mirrors, chrome cylinder head covers, and no abs I believe.
A lot of places cut off the r1100r in 2000, but it was still around 1 more year.

Re: 1150 wheel fitment question
I too am curious about this for the from tire. Would love to throw a front off of a r1100s/r1150r, etc
Honestly I'd love to find a 3spoke to throw on. I'd like to get away from the cross-spoke 18" front

Re: Has anyone mounted a half fairing on an R1100R?
Hey Eli, I'll get some pics soon. To get it to work, I removed the cover from the seat, then shaved the foam down and shaped it to be 'concave' to fit the sh40 well. I set the base on & marked the holes, then drilled & attached them with big fender washers underneath the seat - I did lose th...

Re: Has anyone mounted a half fairing on an R1100R?
I'd like to go down to a 17" so I can run the new pilot road 4 tires. Also, I commute daily, basically any time is above 30°f so my bike gets dirty - the cast wheels would be a little easier to keep clean. (Though I agree with you that the spokes look better) I have a buddy with the 11r with ca...

Re: Has anyone mounted a half fairing on an R1100R?
Hey Eli, I'll swap ya front wheels! The 18f/17r is as silly as the 17f/18r on the cast wheels (want to get to a 17" front wheel) The top case is a Shad 42L I believe. I purchased an extra pillion seat, then mounted the case securely to it, I've had it on for a year and it's been great. When my ...

Re: Has anyone mounted a half fairing on an R1100R?
Late reply (and I need to work up pics!) But I remounted my fairing yesterday with the supports coming from the handlebars. On the bottom side of the aluminum, right before you get to the grip/black part, there is one threaded hole on each side of the bars (m6/1.00, I believe) I bought a 2'x0.5"...
