Re: Rockster sold... new GS ADV.

Hey Mark, nice to hear from you. Yes, the Rockster was part of the "evolution", but if I had space I would have kept it. Well, I try not to be too attached to my things, with some exceptions. :D You know, one of the bikes that I have always liked are the F series. Almost a Buell! LOL Serio...

Rockster sold... new GS ADV.

About 2 weeks ago I sold my Rockster and bought a new GS ADV. Just wanted to thank everyone here for all the help and info given to me throughout the time I owned my Rockster. Loved the bike, but needed something else. Soon I'll post an ad with the parts I took off, like my Akro exhaust, cases, line...

Re: Do your headlights bounce?

[quote="Grey Thumper"]I've been noticing that the light beams from my headlights bounce up and down. Is this normal for the Rockster? Mine bounce like crazy, but I only notice it at night. It bugs me to death! I've tried rotating the tab, but it won't budge. Once I asked a BMW tech how to ...

Re: Gas Leak adventure!

Paul - now you can really feel part of the oilhead group, having earned your Rockster stripes with gas-soaked right leg. Steve - the fine fuel mist can be hard to see aside from the tell-tale right side stain. Ah thanks! :D Next I'll atempt to remove the tank, as I was slightly aprehensive before k...

Gas Leak adventure!

This past weekend, while plotting a ride through the Pine Barrens (NJ), I felt my right leg just above the knee getting wet, but I kept riding. I kept looking down and finally saw drops of "water" flying off from just above the right injector, so I decided to stop and investigate where the...

Re: Exhaust System for the Rockster

Thanks everyone for all your info. I'll post an update when I decide what I'm doing with the exhaust.

Paul

PS What's up with this weather in the East? I haven't taken my bike out for about 4 weeks now... :(

Re: Exhaust System for the Rockster

Yeah, I still have the cat. converter. I don't want it to be LOUD, just better sounding. I want to buy an exhaust not for the power gains, just for the cool sound of the boxer engine. Mark, I had the Drummer on my XB12R, and although the sound was beautiful, I sold it because it resonated inside my ...

Re: Exhaust System for the Rockster

I've been looking at mufflers for my Rockster, and I would like to use the stock heat shield. From what I've learned, the only exhaust that makes use of the stock heat shield is the Akrapovic slip-on ( http://www.akrapovic.com/nc/motorcycle-exhaust/products/bmw/model/r-1150-r-rockster-2003/ ). Is th...

I paid around $650.... and then had to take it to a different dealer to readjust what was readjusted incorrectly!

Pinging solution!

Big thanks to the person that posted a solution for my pinging problem on my Citroid! I can't find the post, but here's a summary: After my 12K service, my bike started pinging badly after riding for awhile, so I naturally thought that somehow the service was done poorly, as there were other problem...

Re: New Pipe question

I just ordered a Leo Vince slip-on ... I'm glad I came upon your post, as I've been looking at purchasing the Leo Vince carbon slip-on also. I don't really care about HP/Torque gain; I just want a better sounding exhaust. I've read the posts about just removing the stock exhaust, but I prefer the l...

Re: The new green color.

Quick update: I picked up the bike today, and I am very impressed. It is interesting how different it feels from the Rockster, although they are similar bikes (naked). I'm so jealous! ;) I still love the Yellow/Black KR, but this new Green is beautiful. Beginning of the year I did a test ride on a ...

Re: Hand guards

I have a pair of brand new hand guards (never installed) that came with my Rockster when I purchased it last year. I can't install them because I have a modified handlebar, but I'm willing to trade or sell. ;)

Re: Final Drive Leak... :(

Thanks 'Burner for the info - it's not actually dripping, just like "sweating". I'll keep careful watch in case it gets worse. Mark, as for the tank bag, yes, I had bought last year a magnetic Marsee tank bag, but thanks for the thought! :D Here's what it looks like, taken last year near S...

Re: Final Drive Leak... :(

Hey Mark, sorry to hear about the "streak of bad luck" you are having with the XB! Very seldom do I go on the Badweather's website, but I do miss my XB. If I wasn't saving to purchase my GS A next year, I would buy a used Lightning. As for my "leak", you mention to check the leve...

Final Drive Leak... :(

Well, I think I'm being punished for all the fun I've been having with my Rockster! :) Yesterday I took my Rockster for an oil change, and while they were doing an inspection before taking the bike in, they noticed and pointed out to me a leak in the rubber "thingy" on the final drive. Las...

Re: Anyone going to Bob's tent sale this Saturday?

Well, I went down and saw a green de-stripped Rockster coming the opposite way on I95, and a Copper Rockster at Bob's. I thought they were going to have a sale, but I was wrong. I had a great ride - ended up putting nearly 600 miles on the bike! Every time I take my Citrus out I'm always imp...

Anyone going to Bob's tent sale this Saturday?

Just wondering if anyone from this board is going to Bob's BMW in Maryland this Saturday - they are having a tent sale, and it's always huge! I'll be riding down the Parkway from Bricktown (NJ) - I think it will be a great day.

Re: Almost Spring - Rockster Photo

Hey, that's my bike! :P This weekend I went to the Poconos Race track (my brother races), and the temperature there in the morning, not factoring windchill, was 33F  ! Thank goodness for the touring shield and for my electric gear. When I left my house on Sunday morning (near Philly) the temp...
