Re: AIR HAWK Recommendations?

I have the AirHawk 2, the $100 model. I think the thing I like the most about it is that when you sit on it with the correct amount of air inflation it moves a lot of the air forward and helps a lot with the sliding forward, crowd the jewels situation that happens when braking or downshifting. Big h...

Re: Parabellum fairing anyone?

Really like the fairing. Use it most of the time around town with the 10" sport fairing. I am 6'7" tall so had Parabellum make me a 24" clear windscreen for touring purposes. Tried it out for a couple of hours. Hated the way it looks, but it really did quiet things down. But when hit ...

Re: Sport Screen vs no screen

Stefan,
May I ask how tall you are?
I have to agree with you that the sport screen does add to the buffeting.

Re: Sport Screen vs no screen

Wow Shawn that be some long distance riding! I started riding 45 years ago on cafe racer Nortons with clip ons, and never any wind screens, and don't remember any serious wind buffeting issues. But then again I was a young guy riding fast in the moment. On the R I am just too tall (6'8") to tuc...

Re: Sport Screen vs no screen

Good suggestions. I agree that the noise leaks from under the helmet make a difference. I looked into a sort of gasket type piece that attaches by stretching over the bottom of the helmet that you slip your head thru when putting on the helmet that seals around your neck but yet to try one. Also abo...

Sport Screen vs no screen

Does anyone have any input on if it is less noisy and buffeting without the sport screen on? I'm 6'7" tall and have the hi comfort seat on my R, and with the sport screen I get a lot of buffeting and noise at hiway speeds. I took it off and it does seem better w/o it on, but I miss the look of ...

Re: Worn Tires = Stiff Handling ??

On my 2012 I had 8600 miles on the original Bridgestone 21 tires, still had a little depth left on the tread, but the rear was getting the flattened center profile so decided to pop for a set of Michelin PR3's. Can't begin to tell you how much better the bike handles now, including handling of road ...

Re: R1200R, Slow Seep, U-Turns, Clutch and Clunk

I see no reason your bike will not complete the test. Feet on the pegs, ride the rear brake for control, Clutch almost slipping. Feather the clutch if you have to, It won't hurt it. Taking off up a hill with passenger and full load is another story. David. David, it is a 19.5 foot inner circle an...

Re: R1200R, Slow Seep, U-Turns, Clutch and Clunk

I chalked the DMV test out last weekend at a small bank parking lot and I have to say that it is really not easy to do that circle on the R1200R without putting your foot down, and staying within the lines... the cones are no problem, neither is the straight line ride (this is California's DMV skill...
