Re: Saddlebags/Side Cases
Thanks for the congrats :) I took the link from an earlier post. I have used a rack from Touratec for a GS with lowered exhaust. Unfortunately I can't find it in their latest catalogue (Dutch). I descibed the conversion here http://www.r1150r.org/board/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=25656 The links may be ...

Pics? This is my solution, lower the exhaust, than fit the paniers as close as you can to the frame.

My clock also had the problem, had it ajusted by the dealer and it was OK for a while.....
So it seems it wants to be at an angle.

Re: System Luggage
I still have my original R1150R paniers, complete with rack. It's lying in my spare room for a while as I have Touratec Sega Pro's on the bike now. If anyone is interested, EUR 200.-- for the paniers plus the rack, they need to be picked up, I'm not going to send it. Location Aalsmeer, The Netherlan...

Re: Where do old helmets go?
My first helmet was used for spareparts (straps and so) for a forum member of another forum. The next helmet was donated to a First Aid Education. My last but one went back to Schuberth as I had an accident and with their mobility program you would get another one (within limited time of purchase). ...

Re: Best Garmin for your moto
Moto-Garmin? I'm still using my old Zumo 550, (end of life) with a 16GB SD card. The map is split, one part internal the rest on the SD. Some Zumo 550 users put the whole map on the SD. To buy second hand, Zumo 660, it has a micro SD to enlarge the capacity. New, Zumo 350, 390, 590.... read the spec...

Re: Warm up time on an r1150r
When I start the bike and it stalls, I turn it on and restart the bike.
Then I ride away and directly turn it off.
No warming up on stand still.
When warming up during riding, both engine and transmission will warm up, not just the engine.

Re: Newcomer in Suffolk UK
Still use my old Garmin Zumo 550, brought me to Finland and back a few weeks ago. I only use it visual. I don't have a bluetooth headset and I don't bother to connect the cable between the GPS and my headset. The current maps don't fit on the internal memory so you'll have to put a part or all of it...

Re: Bike lock
Besides a disklock, I still use the chain I bought for my R100CS. The lock that came with the chain once fell on the key and the internals shifted it wouldn't lock again. So I bought an ABUS disklock, some sort of roundish thing with a pushpin shaped thing that I could stick through the chain, into ...

You could ask the owner of the sprinkler to wash the bike, or at least provide you with water and carwash/bikewash-shampoo.

Re: Cruising speed on your 1150
75-90 I've got a Gimbel fairing because of the wind. When I'm doing long runs (trough Germany), the bike has it's Touratech paniers and the top case filled with luggage. In Holland we've got all sorts of speed restictions at the motorways. Parts are 80mph others 75 or 50 and they even are time depen...

Re: new shocks dilemma?
Just got my bike fitted with HyperPro springs (original dampers).
They can also make custom ones, for if you are heavier / lighter than averidge.
I had HyperPro's on my old bike and that made a difference.
Tomorrows ride will be the first one with the new springs and the cruise controll.

Just had a close look at your picture and it looks like you have another rack. Didn't know there was any and probably I'm wrong. Here's a pic of mine: http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/640x480q90/138/q5rj.jpg BTW the paniers have two tabs on the bottom/front. they fit over the tab of the tab of the p...
