Re: The R1200R Photo Discussion Thread!

The size of license plates in Europe is just obnoxious in my opinion. I understand it's suppose to be visible, but this is getting out of hand.

Re: My Bike Stinks

If you stuff it and put it on a side stand it WILL leek out the overflow tubes. Look for a spot on the garage floor.

My bulb failed not without a cause. I had an accident where that turn signal took the bunt of the force.

Re: best tire for bmw r1200r

If you want to believe reviews on Anakee III it sure sounds like a perfect tire for the R1200R. It helps on gravel it does very good on pavement, plus it has a very good life expectancy.
I wish there was a suggestion box at michelin where they would actually pay attention to it.

Re: turn signal light number for auto

Well I looked for that specific bulb in every gas station and auto parts store all the way from Las Vegas to Chicago they just don't have the one that fits. They have similar ones that you have to pry in there with force. It's either small and white (not yellow) so this one doesn't fit the socket or...

Re: turn signal light number for auto

This is a specific light bulb. You have to buy it a BMW. They have the knobies in a strange places so no other light bulb actually fits. $4 sounds reasonable. BMW of Las Vegas tried to charge me $8.99 for one. I rode home to Chicago without a turn signal...

Re: To Plug or not to Plug

If it was me I wouldn't change the tire for riding just around the town. I really don't see a need to trash it. Just keep some tire plugs handy in case you need to replug it.
Of course if you plan to travel long distance that's a different story.

Re: throttle cable lube - at the splitter?

As far as I know you never lube the cable. If you lube it you get some dust in there and it will stick. Pretty soon it's stuck.

Re: Land speed record dream"n

My 2012 r12r did a 135mph MAX!!! I was rolling for a while and it just wouldn't go any faster. And by the way there still were some rpms left. And it just wouldn't go any faster. I had no windshield at the time but i had a GIVI top box on the back, maybe that slowed me down a little bit but I'm sure...

Re: new light grey R- she has finally arrived!

Congrats on a new bike!! It looks beautiful.
I haven't yet went to a dealer to look at the new colors but this light gray in pictures always looks white to me.
Can you kinda mistake it for a white? If there's no real white right next to it?

Re: Kill Switch

The dealer I bought mine from told me not to use it. I asked him why and he mumbled something about it not being a good idea. Probably not as robust a switch as you'd expect & complex and as a dealer he wasn't thrilled to repair them. I don't use it since the key works as well and the warning f...
