Re: Favorite spots in Florida for Riding or relaxing

My excape from Florida usally consist of running straight up hwy 441 or I75 to the Georgia mountains. Great ri...

Favorite spots in Florida for Riding or relaxing
I have been in Tampa Fl since 1975. Not the best place in the country, but proably the best large city in Florida ( just my .02 worth). Just wanted to let everyone know there are still some great spots in the State. I'm not a great beach person so my view may be a little biased. Bikeweeks are spent ...

Re: some Mid-Ohio pics
Small world. I'm pretty sure I know your dad, have meet at many BMW events around Florida. Is his first name Norm? Did he buy or was he selling that black R69S? Great ride report! Did that trip a few years back from the DC area to Mid Ohio, loved West Virginia, and southeastern Ohio. Say hi! to Norm...

Re: Clutch Master Failure?
When my clutch slave cylinder went there was no sign of leakage. I would try to blead the master using the bleeder valve. The bleeder valve is zip tied to the frame under the seat on the left side just above the passenger foot peg. If you can bleed and get the clutch to work, it is not the master, i...

Re: Plug Cables
Motorade electric has the cables as a pair as well at $58.00 for the pair. He is very highly regarded, more for air head electrical, if he sells them they will be correct

Too much deductive reasoning???? What is that. All I was saying is this is a problem that weight to heavy on my mind. If I want to get on my 2004 R1150r with only 20000 milles and head to Alaska from Florida  I want the peace of mind that it will make the trip. I don't think for the price we pa...

I'm starting to get a bit concerned about reliabilty. I bought this bike for touring piece of mind, starting to lose that peace with all the final drive failures. The Iron butt rally ends today with far fewer BMW completeing the 11 day event than started, many are out with final drive failure. This ...

I use the passport 8500 and find the volt meter helpful information. The 8500 seams to be much more durable than the wireless battery operated Solo 2 that I had previously. I have also ridden with others with the valentine and feel the valentine may be just a tad more sensitive (quicker detection) I...

I had both front and rear rebuilt. I remember it being expensive!! They said my rear preload adjuster had been leaking and needed to be replaced. If I recall correctly that replacement was close to $300 and total cost close to $600. They are great shocks, but can be costly with rebuilds recomended e...

I can't remember exactly but I think the BMW recommended break in is no full throtle or hard acceleration until after the 600 mile service. And no more than about 75% for the next 400 miles. I started slow and after the 600 mile service started riding it as fast as I wanted. Variable speeds under 60...

I have a ram mount ball that replaces the handlebar top holddown brackett. It works well and gets the ipod fairly well centered over the tank. I went with a pair of used ohlins. They where better than stock shocks with 16000 miles. Had some down time between my 2003 and 2004 R1150R's. I sent the shocks back to Ohlins for rebuild cost another $600.00 because the pre-load adjuster had to be rebuilt. Normal rebuild runs about $100.00 per shoc...

I had a similar white smoke and bike came to a sputtering stop. I had a techclusine unit installed. Found it had failed and allowed the fuel injector to stay open, putting to much fuel to the motor. Fuel will burn white unlike oil is blue. I would look into your fuel supply. Did you smell fuel? Good...
