Re: Is this a faux pas?

Congrats and happy riding with the new bike. It is awesome to get a gift like this. There is nothing wrong with multiple bikes, why limit one's fun? :)

Can your wife please talk to my wife? I'd like a KTM 350 for trail riding, thanks ;)

Re: moto accident

Rich, Glad to hear you walked away. Bikes can always be replaced, people not so much. I have a set of SKENE's LED strips down either side of my license plate. When I brake they flash 6 times to wake up people behind me and then go solid. Even without breaking, they are super bright. I also got the t...

Re: Worn Tires = Stiff Handling ??

I've got a 2012 R1200R that came with Metzler Z8's. I'm just shy of 11400 miles and still on original tires. My front is perfect and I plan on changing the rear at my 12K service. However, I'm yet to feel any performance degredation in my tires. I keep them inflated at the manual recommended pressu...

Re: Do You Drive A German Car?

I had a VW Touareg and a VW R32 until recently. Just two months ago I purchased a 2013 Acura RDX small suv as I need the space for my two Greyhounds.

I've owned several VW's and two Audi's and two BMW's. German cars just have a different feel to them. Nice Porsche BTW. :D

Re: best tire for bmw r1200r

The reviews on the z8's from many sources convinced me to stay with these tires; but they don't seem to be getting much love on this forum. Anyone ride them both? My bike came with the Z8's last Mar when I took delivery. I now have a few miles shy of 10K miles and I should be able to get another 1K...

Hey Oliver,

Do you put the anti freeze in the radiator? How much and do you leave it in all year round? Thanks.

Re: Winterizing Our R1200R's

I get out my heated gear, my seat heating pad, hook up the heat controller for the seat heating pad, put on my Wunderlich grip-mufflers, close the vents on the Aerostich and think about putting on one of my bigger windshields. Then I go and try to ride it once a week. I missed one week last winter....

I meant for storage for those of us poor souls that due to weather, cannot ride for 4 - 5 months.

Winterizing Our R1200R's

For those of us that are new to the R1200R and that live in cold winter climates it would be very helpful if some of you "old timers" with the R1200R could put together a list of winterization things to do for our bikes. It would be greatly appreciated. :D

Re: Heading to Canada Saturday (Montreal, Quebec) anyone aro

Hey Don, I've run the Quebec City Marathon several times which starts in Levis and goes along the St Lawrence to a suspension bridge which crosses the St Lawrence if you didn't want to take the Ferry. The ferry ride is about 1/4 mile :) The suspension bridge is only about 3 miles South of Levis and ...

Dropped Some Cah Yesterday

I dropped some cash on accessories for my upcoming 2200 miles trip and rode 236 miles in the process. I rode from home to Max BMW in New Hampshire (96 miles) to get a Throttle Meister installed and have them perform an oil change prior to my trip. The Throttle Meister was fantastic on my long ride h...

Re: Higest vs lowest gas milage?

Not sure of highest and lowest. I'm averaging 45Mpg with 3070 miles on the bike. I calculate at fill up based on gas filled and mileage ridden so not relying on bikes computer.

I ride about 70/30 mix of highway at 75mph and country roads at 45 Mph.

Re: Coming Back to the R12R

Welcome back. I'm approaching 24K which will entail the major service, a new tire and new suspension. Thus, I am debating whether to absorb those costs or purchase a new motorcycle. I am definitely leaning on keeping my 2010R which is a great bike. How come you need a new suspension after only two ...
