BMW Motorrad Site...Neat Thing to Do
Lots of discussion on 2015 models .... I found this to be a fun visual comparison of the R1200R and the R1200RS - Go to the BMW website http://www.bmwmotorcycles.com Click on the Motorcycles menu Select the R1200R, then do the same for the R1200RS, but in another tab on your browser Expand both bike...

Re: Spring Mods
There's a nice discussion on TWS if you do a search. No real reason other than I needed an oil change, so thought I'd give it a try. Summer heat in North Texas can be fairly brutal too. Many days where the temp reads over 100 on the commute home... but it's a dry heat  ...agreed, the spec o...

Used my Christmas and Birthday gift certificates at Adventure Designs to buy Weiser LED turn signs and JPR shorty levers. Picts of lights never seem to show a realistic view, but these are actually brighter than stock. They remind me of the flush mount turn signals on my CBR1000RR. I also liked that...

Re: Clutch (and Brake) Lever Upgrade?
Thanks xprof ! I've upgraded the levers on all my bikes except this one and was researching the same thing… putting them on the Christmas list! On the Adventure Designs website, in the features list, it says," 6-position Roll-N-Click Adjustment "… interesting, because this is the term used...

Re: Recommend Me a Helmet!
Have worn Shoei, Nolan and Arai… Arai for me… +1 on the requirement for fit. Find a shop with knowledgeable staff that will take the time to help you. The shop I purchase my helmets from carry all manufactures mentioned in this thread and they really helped me understand what a good fit is.

Re: 12,000 Mile Update & Other Stuff
Good discussion… thanks for the info on the aux lights. They appear to be very similar to the lights sold by Wunderlich, but without the external housing and much less $. I bought the platinum (oh, sorry, stainless steel... was referencing the price) Flapper Eliminator tube from die wunderbare Wunde...

12,000 Mile Update & Other Stuff
I let the dealer perform the 12K mile scheduled service last week (very busy days these days...). As you can imagine, it was pricy, but it’s done. The front tire (stock Metzeler) had 12K miles on it and they still paused before recommending a replacement because it looked so good. I replace this as ...

Also glad to hear you walked away from this. :smt041 These posts always catch my attention, like a splash of cold water on the face… I remember the saying, "It's not IF, but WHEN a motorcyclist will be involved in a accident"… single vehicle or multi… I commute on my R and cover two lane b...

Re: 18.5 F Degrees Ride in to Work Today
What's your personal cold weather record? I don't know the temp, but I was taking a buddy home at night from an airfield as a cold front came in... remember it like it was yesterday (1982). Just a jacket and jeans, no gloves, no helmet. He was tucked in behind me and missed most of the wind chill. ...

Re: Help with r12r low throttle response issue
I can’t help but post to this thread, knowing all the while that I may not be adding value, but simply sharing thoughts… I’ve had my R12R for just over a year, bought new, and have 8K on the bike. I commute almost every day to work and travel a combination of back roads, highway, and city during the...
