Just put a deposit down on a 2016 early release R1200RS. Will report back when I've ridden some miles on it. That'll be May or June at best

2015 R1200R
Hello all, Have not been on here since I sold my 2004 R and went to K bikes for a while. Getting interested in the r again as it seems the R1200R water cooled will be here next year. Anyone have any more input on the 2015 R1200R bike?

I've installed them on 3 BMWs. Very high quality...nice secure connection. Easy to disconnect. Never had a problem with them in well over 100K combined use.

Re: Sticky Downshifting?
hey all, A question, hopefully not one with an expensive answer. I've got an '02 R1150RA, with 12,500 miles on the clock, just had a 12k service. It runs great, but I've noticed that the gear shifter sometimes sticks a bit in the lower gears, particularly downshifting between second and first. Doub...

Re: Fuel Line Quick Disconnect Question
Thanks all for your advice.
Sweatmark,
Yes, I still have the "R"...will keep it another while. This is a relatively short trip only two weeks. I may take you up on the bike checking this summer. I'll zap you a PM when I get back...we need to do brew , or coffee early next year.

I am aware of the issues concerning the BMW OEM quick disconnects. I replaced the plastic OEMs with metal quick disconnects and replaced all crimp connectors on my last three BMWs. Recently I acquired a 2003 K1200GT which has the OEM quick disconnects. The new metal quick disconnects are here on my ...

Re: Fall/Winter weight oil
I always ran 20/50 for summer and 10/40 for the other seasons. Used to run 20/50 all yr round till one morning it was +2F. Bike wouldn't crank. I couldn't understand it--started the previous morn when it was +7F. Guess 5 degrees makes a difference. I don't do that anymore. 10/40 made the diff...

Great to see you on here.
However, you are tenfold wrong. I've been using BMW approved coolant, so no bad things can possibly happen.
