Free BMW hard side cases
FREE I have a set of system cases from a 2007 R1200R that I need to get rid of. The left case latch does not work but can probably be fixed if you are into that type of repairs. It opened on me last year somewhere in the Mojave Desert spilling two pairs of gloves, a jacket liner, and my Samsung tab...

Corbin seat experience
In September of 2012 I made an appoinment to ride into Corbin's shop/factory in Hollister, CA to have a seat made for my 2007 R1200R. For years I had been reading about all of the custom seats out there and decided on Corbin because they are a two hour, twisty turny, ride from where I live. I was th...

Re: Tell I'm crazy.....or not!
I like the look. I have the BMW cases and they are on the bike all the time. I like the look and the top load of the Trax. If I had to change I would go that route.

Shoei GT-Air Journey
I just bought a new Shoei GT-Air Journey in white, red, and blue so I thought I would share my first impressions. I have been looking for a new helmet for a while. I have never owned a Shoei before and to be honest have never spent this much for a helmet. I liked the reviews I had read so I wanted t...

Re: I'm Back
Even though everyone knows the matte silver finish adds four hp that is a great looking bike. I ride with the luggage most of the time and tend to forget how good the RR looks without them. How many miles are on it? Your pipes don't even look fully browned yet. On another note, how can you tell the ...

Re: r1200r will only start in neutral
Thanks for the follow up. It is always good to hear the rest of the story. This happen to me once. I loosened the adjustment screw on the clutch switch and moved it around making sure I could hear it click. That seemed to take care of it for me. I purchased a used switch online just to keep in my to...

I know what you mean. 106 today and yesterday and I still prefer the bike. Every time I drive I end up wishing I had been on the bike.

Re: Top Three Mods/Farkles
I have more than three but the top three are:
Auxiliary fuse box.
USB charging plug hooked up to the fuse box. (Charges my phone and other things on long trips)
HID driving lights and brackets from Martin Fabrication.
What a great bike.

Re: Brought the R Back Home
"One odd thing ... I stopped to fill it up. Turned it back on, hit the starter ... and it wouldn't do anything. Then I turned it off and on and it fired up. Anyone know why that might be?" It could be your clutch micro switch. Mine was acting up like that. If it happens again try putting t...

Re: GS-911 oil level switch malfunction
I went the A&S BMW website and checked their parts section. I looked at the section for General Electrical, Switch/Sensor diagram (00223583). I looked at the following bikes which all have different K numbers: R1200R, R1200GS, R1200GSA, R1200RT, R1200S. All bikes checked included the 2007 model....

Re: Charging my cell?
I purchased one of these:
http://burnsmoto.com/usb-power-socket-weatherproof.php
and wired into my aux fuse box. I can charge my phone or any other usb device. The wires are long enough to come out at the front of the seat. It has a weatherproof cap for when not in use.

Re: GS-911 oil level switch malfunction
hjsbmw, I purchased a GS-911 a couple of months ago and got the same error message on my 2007 R. I reset it and checked again a couple of days later and had the same error again. I did not realize there was no switch on the 2007. I have not checked with the GS-911 again but I would imagine it would ...

R1200R in Morro Bay
I rode to Morro Bay today to enjoy the fog and 56 degree weather (It was 95 when I returned home). I saw a Granit Gray R1200R parked with at least one other BMW (R1200RT) down by the Coast Guard Station. The R had a big wind screen. Was that anyone here? I was there twice in two days. I had lunch wi...

Re: BOOSTER PLUG
I hope this isn't too much of a thread hijack: I received mine today from the group buy. I was just going to wait to install it until I was doing something else. But after reading several threads I went ahead and installed it. It took 20 minutes because I took my time. I went for a short ride just n...

DIY and glad
I just finished performing the 6K work on my 2007. It is running very smoothly now even though it wasn't running too rough before. The reason I am glad, other than money savings and learning more about the bike, is I found the rubber washer that fits onto the valve cover and goes inside the spark pl...

Re: Ceramic coating pipes and nitrogen in tires=2 for 1 pos
Nitrogen in tires: I was very skeptical about this at first. I went ahead and had nitrogen put in the new tires on my wifes Accord. These new tires were the same model tires she had on the car before. I keep detailed notes on my vehicles (OCD) and always have. I keep a running record on gas mileage....
