Re: gear lever adjustment
If the shifter assembly on the R1100R is similar to the R1150R, once you remove both wire clips from the ball sockets, twist the ball assembly in a clockwise motion - they should pop off with a bit of elbow grease. Hope this makes sense. I recently removed the ball sockets to replace the protective ...

Re: R1150R Riders / Owners manual?
Someone recently scanned the manual - I would make a link to the thread but have no idea how to.
The title of the thread is "Owner Manual R1150R" and was posted July 12,13th.
Good luck!

Re: Tires and such
I am enjoying my PR3's for longevity and great handling in the rain. Just came back from a 2 day trip, mostly in the rain, from Palo Alto to Seattle and the tires performed great. It's been about 8000 miles since I put on the PR3's and they look like they have a long way to go before I need to repla...

Re: Top case that doubles as a backrest?
Don't know about any affordable top-cases w/ backrests but if you go on e-bay right now, someone is selling a Pirate's Lair Stealth Backrest.
Search "BMW R1150R stealth backrest".

Re: System Case Reflector Stickers
Just mild soap and water was good enough to clean the cases before putting the reflectors on. The wet mounting method that they suggest is easy and forgiving, you can keep moving the position of the reflectors before finalizing. Oh, and give yourself a day or two to let the stickers dry.

Re: System Case Reflector Stickers
I got mine from A&S BMW a while back. Motoequip sells them as well and go for le$$ than Wunderlich. http://www.motoequip.com/RK.htm I don't know the quality of the Wunderlich ones (maybe they are bullet proof) but the motoequip ones are great, easy to put on and once they are on - they stay on. ...

Thank you for the wonderful ride report and beautiful pictures Dr. Strangelove!
You really captured the region with your photos.
What lenses and editing software have you used for your photos?
Looking forward to reading/seeing more!

Re: Sticky Downshifting?
Have you tried fussing with the three-way adjuster on the clutch lever?
I tried the "#1" setting and had the similar problems down-shifting once in a while. I adjusted it back to the "#2" setting and no problems since.

Re: Condolences, please
Sorry to hear it. Happened to me when I first got my bike. I was going about 45 mph, hit a bump saw my right case bouncing down the road from my right mirror. I too, had just put my case back on (improperly). I thought that was the end of the case but it survived with only a bit of road rash on the ...

First motorcycle tour - Seattle WA to Santa Rosa CA
I was fortunate enough to have clients that would pay for my ride down to Santa Rosa for a meeting :D. This was my first long motorcycle trip ever. My other trips have been local day trips. The trip was 2080 miles round trip with some side routes included. Stayed on the super-slab through Washington...

Greetings!
