Saddlebags/Side Cases
I've currently got a SW Motech frame and Hepco Becker 40 litre side cases for my Rockster. They're f'n huge and stick way out to the side. I'm looking for something a lot more stylish and smaller. What do y'all use? Pics? Here's the Bimmer that got me thinking about it: http://rocket-garage.blogspot...

Re: goodbye clutch!
Only explanation I can think of other than one of the previous owners rode the poo out of the clutch. Any other ideas? The bike has 21k miles and change. WAY too early for it to fail.
They wouldn't cover it (out of warranty). Hell, I even asked about paying in cash vs. credit.

Parking Outside
I recently switched job locations. My new work office has no parking garage so I'm stuck parking outside all day now. No shade. I'm trying to think ahead to protect my Rockster against the Colorado Sun. I'd rather not cover it up if it's dirty (something else to carry too). Has anyone ever used any ...

FINAL update
Woo! Got the Rockster back. I didn't have time nor money so the bike sat til just recently. BMW of Denver did a good job getting her all fixed up and back together. Pricey f'n job though. I am now REQUIRED to ride the piss out of this thing to get my money back! But damn, no amount of good German lu...

UPDATE
I finally saved up some cash and towed the Rockster to the shop. The transmission input shaft stripped and took out the clutch. The clutch plate was in pieces. Youch

BMW Motorcycle DVD Repair Manual
Anyone ever used the BMW Motorcycle DVD Repair Manual(s)? I'm getting ready to do some work on my R1150R Rockster and was looking at the Clymer guide when I stumbled across this: http://www.amazon.com/BMW-Motorcycle-R1100GS-R1150GS-Rockster/dp/B00A7P2I3U/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1407433458&sr=...

Re: goodbye clutch!
Anyone have suggestions on aftermarket brands/parts or should I just go OEM?
I haven't opened her up yet but plan on it soon. My 'honey do' list is fairly lengthy right now...

Re: goodbye clutch!
I'm the 4th rider on it and I ride it pretty easily. No wild launches or wheelies. I guess the previous owners thrashed it. It gave no signs of wear, just exploded letting out the clutch from 1st to 2nd. I'm guessing splines, but we'll see. I'll photo document the process. I'm curious as hell to get...

goodbye clutch!
Guess I had too many vehicles working at once. I was running some errands in town and I think my clutch exploded. Horrible grinding noises and no power to the wheel. 21k miles and it's dead. Aint right.

Re: Wish List
I've got a SW-Motech rack system that places the 40 litre Hepco Becker cases off the bike at equal distances. They're huge, but symmetrical. Looks good. I was actually thinking this morning I might skip the mirrors. I like the ones I've got. Currently I've got these and love em: http://www.wunderlic...

Re: Helmets
update Aerodynamics are great. The Vortex is stable at 80. Airflow is GREAT! You can open vents and feel the air on your head. Cools you right down. You can also close up the vents and it's like having the windows and doors shut. It'll be great in winter. The negative, though... this thing is NOISY!...

Re: Helmets
sukizilla, how's that Bell Revolver do in the wind? Does your head get pushed around?
ldeijkva, the Schuberth S1 Pro was probably the most stable and quiet helmet I've ever worn. I had to work to turn my head and it would snap back into place looking straight forward. Uncanny!

Re: Helmets
That's the EXACT helmet I had. Mine fell apart on me and Schuberth wouldn't help at all. I totally got the run around. I hope yours last longer than mine did! While it was in shape, it was a great helmet. One of the best fitting/best looking ones I've ever had. I just picked this up over my lunch ho...
