Re: Just got new shocks
Congrat's for moving up to the aftermarket shocks! Yes they do make a difference. I had gone with Ohliins on my 02' RT and I was happy but became somewhat disappointed later. Through my Dealer, I ordered both shocks and was asked about my riding style and whether I would be doing alot of 2-up. I sai...

Re: Seat changes 2011 vs 2007?
I found this posting very helpful! My 2009 seat is one of the worst in memory. Amazing that BMW sent it out of the factory with it. My AirHawks have to be on for anything beyond an hour in the saddle. I have also noticed that the 11' seems to have had much more reshaping for passenger comfort. When ...

Sounds like a GREAT day other than the 4-legged wildlife which doesn't know better and the 2-legged imbasules (sp?) who should. Great writing!

Where to find "riding paradise" and a map tip too- Southeast
I ventured into great rides which I haven't done in a while. I hope all went off as planned and you encountered great weather, attentive motorists, and no unforeseen challenges. The advise to travel during the weekdays is a good one and I found a far greater concern for deer (and bear) in Virginia. ...

Re: Removing air box?
Have to tell you Kallakaki, I understand the apprehension from others because I also know that many a backward modification has been performed by those that don't "sweat the details". You're doing that and following up with testing. Good job! I may be looking at "pod's" behind my...

Power wheely's in 1st and bars "light and dancing" in 2nd. It's the 3000-5500 rev-range, where we ride most that the "snap" has left. I dunno why? She was down-right rowdy before the 600 mile check-over in that rev-range!

Thanks all! The experience of riding her and having her feel like a "rain-tune" has been selected after you take her out of the shop is disappointing. BTW, 4 days after I brought her home I had right wrist surgery and was off her for 4 weeks. I accummulated the 600 miles as quickly as poss...

Engine "snap" gone after first 600mi. maintenance. Any help?
I purchased my 2009 R1200R in August 2010, new. I live in Florida (read sea level) and when I rode out of my BMW dealer, I clearly felt a noticable lack of "snap" in the mid-range that I had prior to pulling into the dealership. I consider the Owner/Service Manager, a good friend and I hav...

These pic's don't have the full-tour lowers. With the Hannigan Fairing, you can outfit it for the weather conditions you need protection from. Right now, 95 degree Summer days, no lowers.

In need of some wind protection? My Plan worked!
http://i1203.photobucket.com/albums/bb386/PrinceBooger/01686.jpg I came off a wonderful 02', RT, to join you all with the "less is more" riders choice. A Roadster! I knew I was giving up wind protection, creature comforts, and had all BMW luggage (with deep sidecase lids). My wife enjoyed...

Re: Did the Wudo fairing group buy happen? If so any pics?
Leonardo, I can say that I don't know what a Wudo Fairing is, but, I will look it up after this response. What I can respond to is what a Hannigan Fairing does for my Roadster. I went to Paris, Arkansas in late May and had Jerry Heil mount mine on my steed. Wow! After I tell people that this was mad...

Re: Wet riding freaks me out
Boy, can I relate to your apphehension! Having learned to road ride in Miami, Florida, I only knew "urban" enviroments. in 1986 a buddy of mine (BMW R90S) talked me into trailering up to the Blueridge Parkway and have a mountain riding weekend. Wow, did that change my perspective! We arriv...

Re: Naked Bandit 1200 v. R1200R
I, like dbrick, have not had the opportunity to check out the Bandit. That may change at some time because I have a recently gotten together and rode with someone with a 1250 Bandit (water-cooled). As dbrick mentions, we chose the Roadster/BMW because of the quality of its' engineering. The suspensi...

We will be shipping up to a Brother in Law some add'l clothes because we will be having a Hannigan fai...

Re: Florida to Arkansas Trip advise
As you can see by my # of posts', I am not as hard wired into this stuff as others. I am surprised that I have not heard any Conti Road Attack input. I put 68,800 on my 02', RT, and found that bike an amazing mount! I've rode quite a few "Smokies" miles and have multiple "KillBoy"...

Re: Busted
I'm with the others that say $40 for a 20-over speeding ticket is remarkable! I have told other non-Bavarian riders of our stock Roadsters' top-end power. Who would guess that an air-cooled, opposed twin would contain such fire on top! I rarely get into that "range" mostly because I am see...

Where to avoid riding, right now. Tornado damaged areas?
PrinceBooger here. My wench and I will be traveling through Alabama, Missisippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Tennesee, North Carolina, and Georgia. I have had no success finding where the many tornadoes have touched down within these states. NOAA, weather web-sites, etc. have not been of any help. I'm leav...
