Re: Sitting at light......neutral or 1st gear?
You are correct, sir. In gear, left foot on ground, right foot on back brake, ready to evacuate in the event of overt knuckleheadedness to the rear.

Best to you and congratulations on your ride. I assume you checked the anti-freeze first?

Re: Two up 800st ?
Two up riding doubles the weight and physical concerns of the driver. I have found a significant difference in my normally spirited solo riding, as opposed to the rare occassion of sharing the ethical karma of not only what happens to me by carrying a passenger. That has usually resulted in a grandm...

Re: Should I pull the trigger?
Welcome and where are you from? Like any machine regardless of origin, your mechanical aptitude will dictate a lot of your maintenance costs. The airhead BMWs I have owned before my current '04 R1150R gave me good training in basics like valves, brakes, and such. And my mechanical experience before ...

Re: Getting title from seller of my r1200r
Working for an automotive dealership, I can offer what information I know. If you paid funds directly to the seller you might be sol because he may or may not have directed those funds to the lien holder, in this case BMW financial. You will not get a title from them if they have not had their loan ...

Re: Engine Chatter After Valve Adjust
It does diminish after warming up, from the front end, possibly left side. Is this the dreaded but non fatal tensioner I have read about?

Engine Chatter After Valve Adjust
Have front end engine chatter, particularly while warming up, recently started after having the valves adjusted. What'd I miss? I have an '04 R1150 R I acquired last year with only 8300 miles on it. I have since replaced the original tires, not really worn just didn't trust them due to their age, an...

The caption around the service manual and parts upon which they rest is why I relish reading this website; intellectual sarcasm tainted with technical expertise. You're Welcome!

Broken Hardbag Lock
Can anyone offer help as to repairing/replacing the orange locking tongue mechanism on the case lock? I accidentally left the bag in locked position while cover was open, then closed & too hard tried to press the handles into locking position. This bent the locking tongue and unfortunately, whil...
