Sport Screen Angle Different in 2011?

This is not very scientific, but it appears the angle of the "sport" screen on the 2011 may have been changed. Perhaps this is a trivial observation, but I find it interesting since the sport screen was the only disappointment on my 2008 R1200R. The angle was just wrong and the sport scree...

Re: Akrapovic Install and baffle (silencer) removal

I have always loved the look and sound of the Akrapovic on the R1200R. My question: What is the life expectancy of the Akrapovic vs the Stock? I see there are repacking kits being advertised for the Akrapovic, which made me wonder how often these things need repacking. I'm more into riding than main...

Re: Clearwater Glenda lights

Just received my Glenda Lights from Clearwater. I have not yet installed them. My R12R is 2008, and for that year the only option was to install via the included brake caliper mount. Other years have different options apparently. Clearwater only had one or two left when I spoke. Very helpful staff a...

Re: Keeping the battery charged over winter

Thanks Anger. I've followed your advice and pulled the battery. So quick and easy to do anyway :) Sincerely, Blair I lived in Michigan up until 3.5 years ago and I never had any luck charging in place. My motorcycle and summer vehicle batteries ALWAYS did better being removed and trickle charged in ...

Re: Keeping the battery charged over winter

Along the same lines, how important is temperature in the maintenance of batteries over the winter? In a garage that drops to temperatures near freezing, should I: a) remove the battery and trickle charge in the house? or b) charge directly to the bike (more convenient) in the colder environment? Th...

Re: Proud R1200R Owner

Congrats Dodi. I recently migrated from a Kawasaki Z750. I'll never forget my test ride and the smile that I could not wipe from my face. Love the low end torque with the R1200R and the perfect ergonomics. The quality in the R12R is visible everywhere, and I will never miss my buzzy, revvy inline 4....

Might be the ideal windscreen for the R1200R, with the adjustable rake and OEM appearance. Looking forward to a ride report, and hope you are feeling better soon!

Re: MRA VarioScreen again

Hi Yim4 and thanks for sharing your experiences with the Vario. I'm now three months into my new R1200R and struggling to find a simple, small fairing to offer a little chest protection with clean air over the helmet. My only test so far is the BMW Sport Screen and it has been a disaster re: turbule...

Thank you for the photo. The seat looks right at home, without any change to the classic look of the R12R. You have helped me with this decision, thanks!

Hey, Bruce. Any follow up on the hearing protection? In theory, they sound like a very good idea, in practice I wonder if they deliver. Thanks for your thoughts. Blair Ordered today. They seem to be constructed in a similar design I have now, but I'm willing to try it out for the price. I'll report ...

I've been using the tourmaster synergy vest for two weeks now: http://www.tourmaster.com/xcart/catalog/Synergy-Electric-Vest-Liner-p-258_59.html The specifications say it draws 4.5 amps, but when I first switch it on the BMW cuts the power to the socket, due to its present maximum draw of 5.0 amps. ...
