Re: Protection for the rear shock

I forgot to mention that the Ilmberger will rub the standard shock protector. I had a set of Ohlins and didn't have a problem.

Re: Protection for the rear shock

Ilmberger will protect the shock but the under side of the seat (bikes rear fender) still can become a mess.

Re: 90th Anniversery R1200R

This link was posted on Facebook. Has anyone heard if there is such a thing as a 2013 90th Anniversary R1200R? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lc4lQep7Ekk I think this might be the same bike. http://www.ridermagazine.com/latest-news/bmw-motorrad-announces-new-boxer-model.htm Two different bikes. Re: 2k Mile Calif Road Trip

Did you hit Porterville Rd out of Quincy? Nice road but you have to watch for gravel at times. Also 49 rocks but I think it would be in the opposite direction you were heading. Sounds like you had fun, however.

Re: Removing spark cover R1200 DOHC

It could just be me but it sounds like Boxer04 is talking about the dust cover on the outside of the valve cover. I know this cover can be tight on some bikes.

Lucky that he's in my own backyard - hour and a half away.

I'm going to take my panniers so we can set the sag with them as well as without.
Ted's a big help even over the phone.

First of all thanks for your service in Iraq!

Second - I also have a white '09. That's the best looking windshield I've seen so far.

Re: R1200R Classic vs Ducati 1098s

Keep in mind the Ducati is geared much higher since it's intended use is the race track. It would make since for them to lose some ground in the beginning.

Re: ESA vs non ESA opinions please.

I had ESA and non-ESA at the same time. The ESA was on a K1200S and the non-ESA was on a Megamoto that had been properly set up by an expert. Riding the both down the same road I would say I had much better control with the Megamoto. Likewise with my R1200R. I put a set of Wilbers on it almost right...

Re: Drilling out the Muffler

I've had several BMW's. Twins and fours. I put a Remus on almost all of them. I drilled the baffle out each time without any problems. If you've ridden around for a while with it in it may take a firm tug to get it out.

I do my own services as well. I've always felt more "at one" with the bike when I do that.
