Re: Major Problem

Load relief relay, found in fuse box. Switch it w/ one of the same type (like relay next to load relief relay) and turn on key. If lights, etc. go on, you have dead LR relay. Cost about 15 bucks. Mini-Relay P/N 61361393412, 3-blade. Good luck.

02 R1150R Electrical Problem

Half way into my ride and losted power to head light, front and rear turn signals, horn, emergency flasher, instr. lights, and brake light. Pulled over and checked fuses, and relays. All appeared OK. Decided to head home and investigate problem in my shop. During return home everything started to wo...

Re: Starts in neutral fine. Dies going to First Gear

Take some masking tape. wrap the very end of the kick stand lever. Clean the end, and spray paint the tip white, let dry, then spray on fire red/orange paint. This may help you wondering why the sucker stops when you throw it into gear. Just an easy look-see downward, will snap your brain in focus

Re: 2008 Summer Journey

Canon "L" series lens are the best. I find the 24-70 and the 24-105 IS my favorites. If I could hit the road like you been doing, I'd also would have left the 400 white whale at home. I carry a 5D most of the time and a P/S Sony CiberShot. I just know if I we're in your shoes and would be ...

Bet'ca you're feeling like a real mountain man, minus the man and a few other things. Got a question. What kinda camera equipment are you shooting with? It seems your lens choice is right-on with fine distance detail. Happy trails to you and your guttsy advanture.

Re: prospective newbie with questions

Mask off all parts not to be painted with masking tape and newspaper. Best to do painting in the garage. You don't want any wind. Protect the garage floor as well. Be sure you have plenty lighting pointed at the work surfaces. Purchase the following spary paint. I had to find and buy my paint over t...

Re: Fueling your tank at the Pump

Sorry for my aggressiveness gentlemen towards snowprick. I just have a very low threshold for people who don't take motorcycles as serious as I do. After some 40 years of riding, with no lay downs, I credit my carefull approach and pride in operating my bike the best and safe ways I can. However at ...

snowprick: Your immature humor is not imformative, welcoming, or one-bit, appreciated. Apparently you do not do well in group settings. Yes, from time-to-time I have found humorous comments on the forum and smiled, but with sense of understanding and respect for the guy asking for help. You, sir, ar...

Snowprick: Regarding your sarcastic remark about me paying $5.00 for a gallon for gas and that I should not be concerned about spillage. If my information is correct, you're paying about $1.40 per gal. living in the Philippines. You're the one that should head over to the UK to begin appreciating wh...

Fueling your tank at the Pump

I some how splash gasoline on my tank when filling-up at the local Shell Gas Sation. I 'm very careful inserting the hose nozzle. and use very light pressure on the nozzle tiigger, but always spray or splash gas on the tank surface. Is there some special technique; are you suppose to place the nozzl...

Just drive to Lowe's Electrical Dept. and buy some white heat-shrink tubing and heat it to the black shifter rubber. The down side it may not last forever, buit can be easily replaced.

Re: My pipes are turning blue !!

Best for removing blue ... called "Blue Job", expensive, about $11.00 per 5-oz. jar and you'll need 2 plastic white jars to clean both sides. Do not add to much water. Lots of rubbing, I use a cloth buffing wheel on my electric drill chuck. Include CAT box. Protect all adjacent body work w...

Prior to installation, I masked-off the bottom AP-1 case perimeter, then applied 4-coats of "Performix" Plasti Dip rubber coating spray paint which can be purchased at any home improvement store. Sealed the bottom great and now you can't even feel those protruding pin points. If you use th...

My R1150R is fitted with a set of Brisk DOR14IR. There are simply fantastic. They are expensive, about $30.00 for the pair, but outstanding Getey-Up, and will last a good 12,000 miles.

Discovered, by pure accident, that if you ride and get the engine HOT, the TB vacuum hoses can be easily removed with just a little twisting. Both sides came off like butter. 70 degrees today and rode about 35 miles. Now I am finally ready for my very first engine sync job this weekend. Hope I don't...

riceburner: The TB tubing nipples, which of course their are two-(2), are rubber tube connected to what appears as a plastic 3-way T-valve, the 3rd discharge exists to the canister. All this is somewhat hidden from view. Is this what you're inquiring about? Perhaps your bike is not fitted with a cha...
