Thanks for the replies!
I attempted to take pictures of the tire wear, but just couldn't get any that really did it justice.

Weird tire wear...help!
Haven't been on the page in quite a while, but I am hoping for a little guidance. I am on my second set of tires (different brands) where I have completely worn through the left side of the tire tread before the rest. After the first set wore out in this manner, I stopped carrying anything in either...

Re: Travels with Stella! 2 A Great American Ride--Out West
John, Please do not change a thing about the way you document your rides! I thoroughly enjoyed this write-up...it is inspirational. You have done an outstanding job of documenting your travels through our great country. I found myself logging on to the website just to find out if you had posted anot...

Re: Hand signal interpretations
...interesting...I had no idea. Thinking back to the situations, I can think of absolutely no reason for the gesture. None of them were fellow BMW riders...maybe that is it.

...um...no, I have only SEEN it during the day. Well, except for that one-dimensional, hollow, chalk-colored guy riding a nearly transparent Honda Shadow the other night.

Hand signal interpretations
This is clearly not a high-priority topic, so to the off-topic area it goes. Recently I have seen several riders flash me a hand sign of which I do not know the meaning. This gesture is equivalent to an upside-down hand sign for "okay." Does anyone have any information on what this gesture...

MattPie,
Looks good. How long did it take, and do you have a full-bike picture with them on?
Thanks so much for the information.

Re: Do I Worry about this?
I had a drip mark in just about the same spot, and it turned out to be a bit of dirt stuck in the clutch bleed hose end. We cleaned it out and it has not been a problem since.

I am in for 3-4 shirts and a couple of stickers.
Do I understand correctly that the shirt would be exactly what was so masterfully modeled in the pictures of this string?

Re: Grifter Storage Box
I tried this storage box, but it interfered with the license plate light housing on my bike. Additionally, the light no longer illuminated the plate very well, since the plate was much further out than originally. I ended up removing the box.

Re: And for that most important of questions....
I have a small hand held steam cleaner that I have been using for mine. It might sound like a bit of overkill, but it has worked very well and relatively quick. I use it with a long bristled brush and just plain water in the steam cleaner. I am interested to hear what everyone else is using. If ther...

Re: BMW Tankbag with Barbacks?
I too am unsure of the type of barbacks that I have, as they were on the bike when I purchased it. The only problem that I have encountered is the horn button issue previously described. In the long run, It is a minor (but embarrassing) problem that I have encountered on numerous occassions.

Yep...that was me. It was weird being able to recognize you and your bike by just the mod descriptions and pictures that you have posted to this site, but it was certainly nice to meet you. Sorry again to hear about your spill. I am glad that you were unhurt, and I hope that you get everything strai...

Re: Trunk for R1150R
I have had my Coocase (S48.L) for ~2 months now. The laptop fits in it nicely (along with yet another briefcase). I like everything about the unit with the exception of the auto locking mechanism. The auto locking mechanism is very unreliable, and I find myself manually locking the case more often t...

Re: Paralever Torque Arm
Well, I bought a GS rear brake line (nothing seems to be cheap with beemers, damnit) so when that gets in I'll find someone who knows how to bleed a a non-abs bmw and will be willing to help me, since I'm NOT going to pay the nice BMW dealership $81 an hour to bleed my brakes. AirForceDirt, I compl...
