Re: F800RR

You know they have conventional one button turn signals too yeah? The Kawasaki ER6-N referred to above has sold 22,000 units in Europe & is just being relaunched as an all-round improved model for 2009. They cost just £4,500 here, whilst for comparison the F800S costs £6,295 (eg: 30% mor...

Re: andystrapz expedition panniers

+1. I never miss an opportunity to plug how good Andy Strapz gear is. We have a great agent in the UK - the stuff comes very quickly with no problems & the quality is very high. I have the Boot Bagz, Hot Loopz, Loopz, and the stretchy straps in three different sizes - I then made a point of hunt...

Re: Pulled the trigger

That is really weird - my first visit back here for ages, and this post was top of the 20-pages of unreads. I had just posted, literally just posted, on another site a story about how I struggled to keep up with a blue RT on my rideout yesterday into London! I filtered up behind the guy in traffic &...

Nice - I would have these in a blink if (when?) I had an R12R.

Re: R1150R in the Pyrenees, video

Excellent film (didn't hear the music yet).

Could you tell us roughly where it was filmed please? I fancy working some of that into my next French trip.

Thanks, Dan

See if you can wear all the items home on the bike, preferably all at once (like Joey in the Friends episode ...)

Re: 1200R in White

That looks fabulous - love it. White is making a comeback (in the UK at least) after falling from favour - there's lot of other 'cool stuff' like iPods, Xbox 360, BMW M3 and Audi R8 in white too. I've posted this one-off with the Wudo fairing before, from the Milan show 2006 last I think: http://i11...

I wouldn't put anything on mine at all, clean with baby-wipes (they're brilliant for most things...)

Re: Y-pipe recommendations?

My Remus y-pipe was collected by it's new eBay buyer last night after I traded-in the R & stripped the farkles, and held it's money well! Main benefit to me was weight reduction, that cat weighs a ton - seriously, take it off (hold in both hands) and decide whether you want to lug around all tha...

Re: Why did you choose a R1200R?

... Can anyone comment on its use as a day-in-day-out commuting machine, used in all weathers, as well as for scratching and the odd tour? ... I'd say that's pretty much "the mission statement" for the R1200R. I commuted almost daily on my R850R for over two-years & the 1200 is better...

Re: Aerostich, anybody..

Aerostich Roadcrafter is great for over your normal clothes (as per going to work thread) but I don't wear mine so often when I'm going out 'for just a ride', when I prefer leather jacket etc. Also good for touring, just makes life easier. It's also great to have no-fuss armour in knees, shoulders, ...

No worries Gypsy, I shall still be sticking my nose in here weekly - I love reading the ride reports from Chi, DJ, yourself & many others. Besides, I'm still part of the R-family, if just the slightly odd cousins kid at the reunion now. I first rode an R12S not long after launch & the experi...

The Angel of The North

Maduko - that statue is an enormous 200-ton iron sculpture called The Angel of The North . It's by the side of the main A1 'highway' linking England up into Scotland, in Gateshead near Newcastle Upon Tyne. It was commissioned by the City Council from sculptor Antony Gormley , who's quite famous here...
