Re: Fuel Starvation

I had a similar issue, and did the canisterectomy. Bike ran fine after that. Also had a fuel filter clog and leave me on the side of the road, but was able to be back up and running a couple of hours later. on the 4 spark bikes the stick coils are a pain but shouldn't leave you stranded. It just doe...

Re: Howdy from Texas - Request for Input Before Purchase

No leaks from under the engine in 87k miles on the silver R and none in the 17k on the red r. I used Mobil 1 oil the whole time. I did have some leak from forgetting to put the fill cap on once. LOL

Re: BEAKSTER BASH XV LaVale, Md May 16-20, 2018

I'm stuck here. Dealing with a moronic situation with a customer at work, and the last time I rode thought WV with the predicted amount of rain I almost bit it on I-77 at 77 mph when I hydroplaned across a small stream...

Enjoy.

I'm still trying to figure this out. May be stuck with working Friday early AM, and possibly Saturday. We are a little understaffed. Want to see everyone.

Re: Dayco vs. Bring More Wallet?

I got one at the dealership. There are different belts based upon build date and alternator. I actually have a short belt that won't fit on my bike although that is what came on it. long story. I didn't change the belt until 86,000 miles.

Re: What octane gas do you put in?

Use the lowest octane you can with the engine "knocking". You'll know if it knocks. In the warmer months, March through November, I can't get away with anything under 93. Have you hit 160k yet on the odometer? I just always use 91 or higher. There are also certain areas of the country tha...

Re: dry, cracked fuel lines

TThe quick disconnects definitely should be upgraded, and the fuel lines are an easy repair/upgrade. Also a good time to upgrade the clamps on the fuel lines.

Re: All in one biking boots: tall sole, weatherproof, no laces, and work appropriate

I have 2 sets of BMW boots. Got one on Closeout for $77 in 2003, and still ride in them. The newer(All Round boot) pair was also on sale at around $160. They are probably 7-8 years old. Both have been exceptional, and the old pair is one of my most comfortable shoes period. Feet have been wet once i...

Re: Tire Time

I've had several sets of Bridgestones. I like the T-30 Front, and the rear is OK. Good mileage and grip on front. Good grip but not great mileage on the rear. May be wicking it up too much.

Re: Riding below freezing: do-able or suicidal...?

I recall Vann saying he thought I had hypothermia during that Bash. Weather channel said it would be 60 degrees, but somehow I rode through several inches of snow up and down the mountains of WV.

I will ride bellow freezing, but I try to do it when it is dry.
